Honeymoon period over?

No, it wasn't.....in my opinion as well the pre FL looks so much more elegant than the interchangeable FL-model....I really don't like the facelift-face as well....the only thing that really improved with them is the interior.

I think the face on the new Octavia is like Marmite - you either love it or you hate it. Personally I love it (I hate Marmite though).

Strange - I like Marmite, but am pretty indifferent towards the front of the FL - I could take it or leave it

I don't much like FL either - it seems to be trying to imitate a kind of aggressive look seen on some French cars and recent Fords - sort of a snarl on its face.

Pre FL looks more elegant and stylish IMHO.

I saw a beige (cappuccino?) FL today. Much to my surprise I liked the colour.

I'm not so keen on the FL grill . But I don't like the similar strongly chromed grills on the Insignia and a few other cars. A little too USA for me.

The way I see is is that up until Fabia II, Superb II and Octavia FL Skoda were establishing the quality side of their brand.

With these models they are establishing a house look / style.

I've got an Octy VRS Facelift in corrida Red and it looks the mutts nuts, I'm not used to getting admiring/envious looks from other drivers before now! :)

I've noticed that too, glances and looks at my Race Blue Octy VRs... mainly from boy racer types, but still getting looks whereas the Saab was pretty much ignored (thankfully)
