  • Design and weight are great IMO, and I didn't want to go back to silver wheels. Since TD only do them in silver, white, or black, it had to be black

It's nice being in a minority ;)

After much deliberation between anthracite and black, the black won out, but they look smaller! And the car needs to be a little lower I think.

The anthracite wheels always looked dirty even when they were clean so my vote goes for the new black ones.

Just needs this now to complete the makeover

Out of the choices.... Zenith's in original silver!

I prefer the Zenith's if im honest, they look good in both Anthracite and the OE silver (i probably just prefer them in silver on a black car, but Anthracite would look better on a lighter colour)

Black wheels just don't do it for me as you loose all the nice detail of a nice wheel.

That's a lot of lead - are they new or refurbs?

Are you calling me a chav ? :punch:

And please don't say "If the cap fits, wear it" :dull:

I'm a fan of black wheels (see sig ) but there is one issue with them. It does make the brakes look very small. My Leon brakes seemed to halve in size when I had my wheels done. For me keep the wheels lower it then get some Cupra/R32/S3 sized calipers on the front and it will look a load better

My car had silver, then grey, then black wheels.

Then silver again when I washed it.

Anthracite for me.

Agree the other comments on here - the black seems to make the rim look smaller.. and it needs to sit lower (whatever the wheels are..!). To be honest the design of the pro-race's does not help - the curve of the spoke of the factory wheels makes the rim look bigger than it is.

From a dynamic point of view, the lower unsprung mass really does transform any car - my old esprit v8 had some really heavy wheels on from the factory - i swapped these for some magnesium rims (as fitted to the "sport 350" model) which were several kg's lighter. Difference was incredible..

looks vs. dynamics.. its a tough one!

Not keen on black wheels as a rule, sorry.

Probably originals overall I think Bryan - sorry! :(

It is a tough one, as I know how strong and light a wheel they are. So possibly with the tyres shined (untreated tyres always manage to look brown when fitted to black wheels) and the hearse sat on Eibachs, it'll improve things.

True.

I decided in the end that if I was going to change it would be to something which would improve the driving experience over the looks.

So glad I did - they've certainly made a difference to the pick up and the front end responsiveness

Sod the rest, I like them Bri :)

Subtle and to the point as usual Len

Cheers

I'm sorry, I like the Original Zenith's.

They look good & unlike a black or anthracite wheel, it doesn't show too much if you accidentally :swear: kerb it.

Glad you like them

Anthracite looks best. I have Zeniths temporarily on my black A4 Avant and am now keen to make them anthracite at the next tyre change. I have the black Team Dynamics on Clio 172 Cup and find they're prone to stonechips. They look very similar to the OE Speedline Turinis, but with an extra spoke.

The weird thing is I've always fancied the idea of black wheels on a black car but I've yet to see a combination that looks good.

I've seen enough Nissan Sunny GTR's down on the prom playing silly buggers with black OZ's to last a lifetime!

Sorry buddy but the black ones don't do it for me - its original all the way. That said if you like them then thats all that counts emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I'm a bit too old to be a boy racer - and the only reason I have for playing music loud is because I'm going deaf

I do, and haven't regretted getting them one bit

Would be nice if more than 4 others liked them though :S
