Interested to hear that the car is better with the lighter wheels. I've got a black vrs estate coming early march, and I'm not that keen on running 18's round sheffield as the roads are horrific. I was thinking of going down to 17's but a lighter 18 might help the ride.

I live in Sheffield and I've had an Elegance on 16s and a vRS on 18s and 16s and honestly, it doesn't make much difference over the potholes. Although as an aside, a weird thing I found is the vRS suspension is actually less crashy than the Elegance.

Light after-market wheels don't play well with potholes, especially cast (cheaper) ones. The most famous wheel for bending on pothole hits is the OZ Super/Ultraleggera. The OEM wheels are heavy because they're cast, not forged yet have to be very strong, so as to avoid damage, leading to warranty claim attempts and irritated customers.

I didn't vote as the answer isn't clear. I'd have the Pro Race 1.2s for the weight drop, but the anthracite Zeniths for looks.

I wouldn't call OZ wheels "cheap"...

Cheap compared to BBS ;) . To get BBSs in the same weight ballpark as Super / Ultraleggeras you'd be looking at something like RS-GTs, which are going to set you back over 3 grand.

Well yes... but most houses are cheap compared to BBS!

I like the wheels but I'm not sure if its too much black on a black car. But you like them so monkey's uncle to what anyone else thinks.

Tempted to get some for mine but can I justify the £900 cost? hmmmmmmm
