Pics of my new Corrida red Octy vRS

Featured Replies

Finally !! Have been searching everywhere for some really good pics of a red one. Mine's been on order for a month but still haven't seen one in the flesh so good to see a range of pics. Didn't want to pay for metallic (Blues are a penny!)and hoping I made the right choice over White.

Cheers

nice in red, i have diamondbrite from a previous car that had it put on from the garage. shampoo and polish. is it worth putting on when collecting the car?

looks stunning.

Don't know why more people don't go for red really - looks great :)

I loved my previous vRS TFSi in Corrida and it still looks fantastic in FL-spec emoticon-0103-cool.gif

Best 'no-cost' paint option in my view

Red is definitley the way forward :)

I diamondbrited mine that day I picked it up and a year and a bit on it still looks the mutts nuts. Id wash and clay your car down first to get any surface contaminates off it.

Glad the are useful pics Piwi :)

That's dedication way beyond the call of duty!

I presume, Wardy, you've no wife, no family, etc, etc. as three days car cleaning in my house would make life not worth living :giggle:

The whole point of buying corrida red is that there don't seem to be that many around. Race blue is a great colour but there are lots of them. The pictures show a clean car but it should be, it's not very old.

Nice car one of the best red octy vRS B) :p

Are those two Red's the same emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

The FL model looks more orange than red..

@ wardy Stunning for 4 year old..emoticon-0148-yes.gif Makes me want to consider a Red one next time

Want to sail across the pond and have some more practice on my white one emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Red is particularly difficult to photograph. It's quite sensitive to different light levels. I often used to get quite orange reproductions when photographing mine. So you needed to be quite precise with white balance and shutter/aperture, in order to make it look 'red'.

They both have the same colour code.

A trip across? I suppose I could be persuaded :D

I suppose you wouldn't like to share those settings? My son has a Milano red Civic and loved that pic of yours..

Trouble is you need to tweak depending on the conditions at the time of the photo - annoyingly emoticon-0120-doh.gif

That one was taken outside my parents house and I know that I tweaked settings each time I took any!

I can give you the settings from that though, if you want. Best thing is to initially test some shots with the different white balance options available. And make sure the ISO setting is fairly low - say no more than 400. That'll prevent the lens letting in more light than is needed, and 'flooding' the image, which will wash out the red in the photo.

Also try and get the test shots back onto a computer if you can, as often it's tricky to see on a camera LCD exactly how the colour has been captured.

Hope that helps.

Thanks,

I rarely use over 200 iso anyhow.

Will do a bit of fiddling with white balance and see how it goes.

Cheers

Also consider angle of the photo and what the camera is metering against, for light.

You might also see in the first of those FL pics, that it perhaps looks less orange to you there, because it's shot from the other direction, with the trees in the background? Versus the third one, which has the sky a bit over-exposed....

If it helps anyone, this is my original thread about the detail on mine:

Detailing a Red Octavia Mk2 vRS....

Unfortunately the photos don't seem to have made the transition to newer forum software emoticon-0120-doh.gif

I could probably go and re-edit it though, and link the right photos in the right place again....

2 days and 22hrs total on the outside, then the 3rd day I did bits on the interior emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

Cheers,

Steve

Bloody hell, if I realised it was going to be a photographic critique Id have taken my time and used one of my L series lenses as opposed to snapping some shots :)

Everyone knows that Red is the best colour anyway :giggle:

none taken mate :)

From my experience the CR engine is much improved from the PD. Significantly more refined and more linear in its power delivery.

After driving the CR, I ordered a new car the next day!

Spot on.

Sorry

I didnt mean it in a bad way

I was just amazed at how the 4 year old one looked..

Your one is still nice

And yes.

Red is the best color

But only if you cannot get a white one emoticon-0140-rofl.gif
