Blackberry 8900 Curve and RSAP

Featured Replies

I have just taken delivery of a May 2009 Superb Elegance with GSM3 Columbus unit.

I have seen various posts saying people have managed to get the Curve 8900 working, but I am having problems !

I have an old BB Pearl which I know is not RSAP compatible, so will not work, hence I have been trying a friends 8900 to see if I can get this working before I get a 8900 (I have to have a balckberry for work !)

Remote Access Sim is ticked on the 8900, from the MFD I then select seach, it finds the 8900 and I select connect on the MFD. The 8900 then asked for a code, but the MFD doesn't give any code (should be a 30 digit code according to the manual for the car), so eventually comes back with a message saying the phone is incompatible.

Does anybody know a way around this, or is it some sort of security settings on the 8900.

Thanks.

I seem to recall the system asking for a 16 digit code when I had a test drive - 1111 2222 3333 4444. Worth a try...

For me this code was the PIN code of the SIM Card

I just tried my wifes Samsung Toco, once the phone was found by the MFD it came back and gave a 16 digit code 4444555566667777 which once put into the phone connected and all worked OK.

The main issue with the Blackberry 8900 is that the MFD doesn't give a code to enter onto the phone !

I had similar problems, go search for a previous posting/response from me on this topic for what I did to make it fianlly work. Mine's been working now for about 10 months.

Thanks for the info, I did eventually manage to connect (putting the 8900 in listening mode), but the connection was not very reliable, as I am in and out ot the car quite often. As per the post http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/124952-compatible-phones/ you have to remove the battery every now and then hence I have decided to go for a different phone.

As per the latest brochure the list of phones has changed (http://www.skoda.co.uk/pdf/brochure_superb.pdf), some have disapeared and lots of BenQ andf Sony Ericsson one have been added, since I picked up a printed brochure dated 10/9

Can you update the software off the BT module on the car or has Skoda just tested a lot more phones I wonder ?

I don't want to buty a phone that doesn't work (or is not reliable) !

My car was registered May 2009
