Simple. There's a button down by the driver's seat which you press prior to locking the car which disables the interior alarm sensors.

"Simples ... tch". Thanks Tiger. Just checked with salesman - he's still saying March. We'll see... :S

Had my 07 Scout 2.0 PD Tdi about 6 weeks now and Im happy so far, It ticked all the boxes for me as keen fisherman, it has a huge boot and will be useful where I might go over rough ground and need to tow my 16ft boat which is where the extra torque comes in. The hill start function is useful when pulling the boat off a steep slipway and love the haldex for the same reasons not to mention in the recent snow.

What focussed you on the PD? Did you consider the petrol version? (Curious) :S .

The extra torque for towing being the main reason, but it was hard finding a diesel Scout never mind a petrol, my budget put me in the 07 bracket so I was limiting myself there too.

What oil does the manufacterer stick in the 1.8tsi? Plan to have 'fixed' servicing, when it arrives.

60,000 miles in & still think it's a cracker, will consider another FL version when it hits 3 years in July especially if they shove the CR Lump in.

(then again if they fit the Haldex to the VRS, I'll have a look at that too)

Just had official call from salesman (following me phoning the 'pet' service guy for info, 3 days before) advising car will arrive "in April - haven't got a specific date". So, that's since Jan. 28th, which makes 3 months (if we're lucky).

If you are getting the car from Clock Garage then I wouldn't expect much in the way of customer service to be honest.

I've had 'average', but one of the service guys is worth pinning down (not literally - or laterally!). Generally get servicing done at Jody's nr Cannock.

Yesterday I was told car has arrived, and will be ready Thursday at 2pm. Ordered 29 Jan, which makes it over 13 weeks!

With current car: tried to put pipe into tank to syphon petrol out. Blocks c.2/3rd way down and clearly not into any petrol liquid (just a mouthfull of fumes). Is there an anti-syphon device built in? Please advise, urgently.

Most cars do these days....

Most cars do these days....

Yes, they usually do...

if you're that bothered, it probably easier to do it form the other (engine) end, and let the fuel pump do the work for you.
