New Fabia Sport late March 2010

Featured Replies

Hi,

I eagerly await delivery of a Fabia Sport 1.6 petrol (Corrida red). I included an armrest thinking that the extra convenience would be useful but note on the forum that some of you guys think its a bit of a nuisance. Scary thought . . . However, the wife is a firm believer in mud-flaps which I am considering getting put on once the car arrives at the garage. Do most Fabia drivers use mud-flaps? I remember sending in a question on mud-flaps to a young Richard Hammond when he had a car spot on Radio Lancashire every Sunday. His guest was a guy called Zog Ziegler (spelling . . . ) 'Hamster' put the idea of cars having mud flaps and Mr Ziegler kind of rubbished the thought! What do forum members think of mud-flaps in general?

Any other thoughts most welcome on the Fabia Sport.

Splendid!...and in 'Corridor Red'! Congrats on a good choice. They do look good in red. As for mudflaps...I have the Fabia 2, level 2, 1.4TDI PD Estate, and put the Skoda original mudflaps on her. Good quality and easy to fit, cheap to buy, and they look smart. They do help keep the nether regions cleaner and prevent stone chips to the sills, I noticed quite a difference after fitting. Unlike many aftermarket flaps, the Skoda flaps fit extremely well and don't look out of place or spoil the lines of the car.

Let us know what you think of your new car when you have it.

Oh...and welcome to the board!

Ditto re the mudflaps, the car looks more complete with them. Save some money and fit them yourself, very easy job and takes no time at all.

hi i have got mud flaps fitted to my fabia sport (black magic) they make it look even lower especially from the back.

Thanks for that. I'll definitely have mud-flaps put on. Although these positive waves . . . .

The armrest is not a nuisance, it's great. Took me no time at all to get used to operating the handbrake and gear change with it down, but it moves upwards with ease if you're doing a lot of stop-start driving and find it gets in the way. Once you're on the open road, down it comes for lovely comfy support to your left arm. It also provides highly useful extra storage - my armrest neatly stows away my satnav, satnav charger, ipod and ipod charger (plus other little bits and pieces) until needed. Perfect.

Congrats on your new sport, BTW. You'll love it

So are these genuine skoda mudflaps like, i aint seen any is all. Would be interested, will my skoda dealer have them like? if so, how much of the green stuff?

When I arrange fitting of mudflaps they will be Skoda fitted at £41 according to the latest Skoda brochure.

Do I need to drill holes or damage anything if I decide I no longer want mud flaps in the future and want to take them off?

Got the cost of mud-flaps wrong at Simpsons Skoda. Price to buy is £41 but they charge an extra £35 for fitting. May be I should put them on myself - how hard can it be!

Not hard at all to fit the Skoda mudflaps. I did mine myself. Took about an hour tops. No holes to drill as you use the existing bolts and holes which hold the under wheelarch plastic piece in place.

Have armrest because it comes as standard on the Fabia3. Hate it. Keep it up all the time. Uncertain why we need an armrest when we're driving. Both hands on the wheel surely?!

Mud flaps. Haven't had them fitted. No chipping problems on either of our Fabias . . . . . . And the roads around here are not exactly well-maintained!
