Has anybody had it done by them?

Are they any good?

Should I risk it?

Tried to search but got 1000 results and nothing relavent.

wow lol, ive heard of them before on here, dont think it was good.

sec ill have a look

mmm, optimistic figures there mate,

from experience mate you get what you pay for in most cases. Ive had lots of remaps and a trial APR. all were crap imo. the apr being generic was ok and the best one for just a std car with minor things on, but a lot of money for what it was. RED DOT, CCCTech, Upsolute, and an ecu god from the valleys who fixed my car when RED DOT ****ed it up. all cheap and ok at the time but a wast of money. Get it done right first time.

r-tech say no more buddy look um up

thats all Ill say lol,

looks like the Upsolute(SIHT) map I had, dont care how hot it gets that is a crap map if it is that up and down.

the reason the FMIC would of made his car feel better is coz of the slight extra lag. notice tho that he didnt get it RR again.

if they are clsoe mate and convenient then give them a go but its up to you at end of the day.

One of the local members to me had a postal map through them on his vRS last October.

The customer service was pretty good, we cocked the immobiliser up by pulling out a fuse and thought it was to do with the remapped ECU, the bloke from More-BHP was on the verge of driving down to Kent from Cheshire to sort it out when we realised what we'd done with the fuse.

It drives well and isn't that much thirstier on fuel but not had a chance to get it on a dyno and see proper graphs of what the fuelling and boost is doing.

Hooked my Liquid Gauge up to it and the most it managed was about 211bhp and 217ft/lb torque, peak boost about 18psi settling down to 14psi, but heat soak kills it very quickly and if you do three hot runs in a row the second run was more like 203bhp then the third one down as low as 193bhp (almost same as my unmodded VRS!) so it really needs an FMIC.

I'm not sure I'd put a generic postal map on mine without seeing detailed graphs of what the map is like, plus you might as well do other bits first (exhaust, CAI etc.) and get a custom map as you're only going to want more power after a generic map.

Postal Remap Anyone?

Yep had a stage 1 remap with them about November 2008, nice guys.

The first map they put on was a little too manic for my liking, boosting too hard( had to hold on to the steering wheel for dear life) good fun but and silly quick but I wanted control (smooth boost with no blipping) and my mpg's back.

Took the car back after a quick call to Jason and told him want I really was after, with not one grumble his mapped the car again for free and by god it was a lot better

First map- bph 220, 0-60 6.7sec ish , 27mpg, over taking like an idiot (sprinting fast)

Second map- bph 210, 0-60 7sec's, 34 mpg, smooth power and lots more torque (mid range loads better)

He talks you though it all and takes you out for a test drive after wards.

Get it done, best money I've ever spent on a car (I would get your blow-off valve done while your there, go for the 007)

Hope this helps

Cheers for the advise. Mines only the 150 1.8T and I would be taking it to him rather than the postal method. I think I will get it done and i'll let you know how it goes for only £175 I can't conplain and who cares if it blows up on me its only a car.

so why bother having it remapped?

its only a car. it does the job.

Hope it is a good one mate, and you like it.

I don't know really. I just want to get it done because I can and it will make me feel really manly and hard!!!!!!

Vroom vroom.

lol ok

I had a postal remap done on my 130PD a few months ago for £100 and to be honest its great

I didnt want to squeeze every bit of power out of the car and there was the issues of a new clutch if that was the case!

But the way mine has been done is fine it pulls well fuel is a bit better if not the same as the standard car and it goes like a diesel shouldnt, so im very happy, as my main issue was the price!

Had mine for almost 3 years now with no problems at all from these guys.

Look at the dyno plot, its all over the place, and will result in interestingly bad acceleration. It should be nice and smooth all the way up to the redline. It will be very much like driving a car which feels like its holding back.

yup

thats why I posted that mate,

that looks Crap.

yea the power is there but thats bot whats important. Its how its delovered and the smoothness of it. that will be a pig to drive and will throw you around a bit.

Its one example, Ive had no issues with power delivery from mine so cant really comment other than my own experience.
