Can your Maxidot do this

1. Type fiscon UK into google

2. Select fiscon basic plus kit and buy that £360 delivered using next day delivery ( that's in the UK mainland not NI or Europe)

3. Install it

I will do a proper install thread later

Also this kit will NOT give you the extra maxidot screen if you have a FL Octavia.

@Magic. Yup I found it displays that aswell so I now too have the battery voltage. I don't think it's a voltmeter as when the ignition on but engine not running it still displays a voltage. Or is that what you meant?

Have you tried the A2DP music streaming facility yet?

Yup it works perfectly from my iPhone

Carl

Right, in words of one syllable or less..

I want my car to have what Carl's has got (no Maxidot, currently). I am not a spanner-man, or an electronics guru and I don't understand half of what's been said on this thread so far... So:

1) Who do I speak to "make it so"?

2) How much will it cost me?

Ta!

If you dont have maxidot, you will have to change the instrumentpanel first (with a maxidot one). It will not work without maxidot.

It will not work from the interior facelifted versions on. Instrumentpanel is different so are some things changed in the Can Bus.

And if used as a EMFA (only the module to display this and no handsfree kit for your cellphone) you cannot combine it with a standard Skoda handsfree kit.

@Carl, I meant it displays the voltage (called voltmeter over here.... emoticon-0124-worried.gif ). Right side lower display can also display the liters (gallons) left in the tank in es much more accurate than the std restmiles on the maxidot.

The Fiscon unit bases on a Parrot bluetooth unit (is a Parrot inside).

Yup it works perfectly from my iPhone

How would you rate the sound quality? I've never experienced A2DP streaming before, Can you play everything from the Iphone? ie Can you stream Podcasts as well?

Could you give us a brief rundown of how the streaming feature works please?

thanks in advance!

Basically you select A2DP from the maxidot menu

Then select play. It then mutes the mfd3/stereo (pauses it aswell if your playing music) and starts playing the music on the iPhone

I don't know if it will play podcasts but I see no reason why not.

With iPhone you have to change the track on the phone as even though the selection is there when you press it on the maxidot nothing happens

The sound quality is ok (not as good as playing from the headunit itself) but it is being streamed via Bluetooth.

Overall ( only had it 2 days ) I think it's brilliant.

Selecting Next track and Previous Track from Maxidot works on my iPhone... Mind you, I normally drive round with the MFD displaying and use the iPhone to change tracks etc. as I have it mounted just above the Bolero unit in the car...

That's odd :wonder:

Doesn't work on my 3GS.

Are you on Firmware 1.83 (which is the latest and also what was pre-installed on the device)

Will double check when i next go out, but that firmware level sounds the same to me (mine was only installed 3 weeks ago...)

My iPhone 3G (not s) is on 3.1.2

Will be the same then mate.

It will be the 3GS. My Bose Dock & Logic Dock both charged my iPhone 3G.

Put the 3GS on either and i get the "this accessory is not made for iPhone" ballcox

My JBL dock works most of the time, but sometimes I get that on my 3G... Love the phone as a gadget, but would love consistency in the bloody thing :-)

I know it works with my next Stereo though ( the iPhone i mean )

Tested a new Bose Soundock 10 today and OMG that thing is stupidly loud but crystal clear even with heavy bass applied

Expensive at £700 but it wipes the floor with the Zepplin

Have just been out in the car and the firmware is the same as yours but the next track and previous track are no longer working and just to show I'm not going senile, my 12 year old confirmed that it was working as I showed it off to her when I first got the Fiscon...

Grrr

(You'll be hard pressed to offend me - assuming the swear filter is working)

Never challenge a squaddie to something like that :)

How do you do that?

Steve

should be there along with current MPG, ave. MPG, range, travel time etc. or atleast it is on mine (build week 52 I think)

Are planning a group buy for the Fiscon hands free or the E-MFA additional gauges. If it's the E-MFA I might be interested.

As might I, how does it work? Does anybody know if it will work ok with the factory fitted bluetooth? Is it just simply plug and play as there is not much on the website about it.

I bet it can't :p

;)

Carl

Carl,

I noticed in the top left hand corner of your MaxiDot what looks like a compass arrow and NE for North East ?

Is that a simple compass only available with SatNav option, or present on all maxiDots without SatNav ?

Thanks.

The E-MFA will only work with the Fiscon Bluetooth. It will not work with factory fitted Bluetooth.

Carl

You can get a module to do this without the bluetooth http://www.kufatec.d...9e7ed361d54163. Been thinking about getting one myself when funds allow emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Note:

Not suitable in combination with hands free kits which are displaying telephone information through the instrument cluster (for example Premium rSAP)

<LI>Not suitable in combination with hands free kit FISCON

Thats a very odd way to spend 150Euros + delivery.......IMHO :-)

My OEM BT only cost me £220!!!

The E-MFA will only work with the Fiscon Bluetooth. It will not work with factory fitted Bluetooth.

Carl

cheers Carl

maybe they will bring out one that will work with the factory Bluetooth

Richter Sport Ltd in Milton Keynes (0845 370 3227) supplied and fitted a Fiscon Basic-Plus to my FL Octavia for £411.25. Took about an hour while I waited in their lounge with free coffee etc. Good service and great unit. I have the full instruction manual which includes an installation guide (PM me if you want a copy).
