FARB on a vrs

Featured Replies

All the bushes have gone on mine and it's also catching my driveshaft.

What will i be risking removing it?

Cheers

as far as I know, very much so! :)

Sorry re-read the question - well, I imagine the car will roll around a lot without the link between the 2 struts.

So i might aswell spend another fortune and get it sorted. Dunno what to do about the driveshaft catching, on 85% full lock my car sounds supercharged

Might have to get the mondeo drop links.

A major accident.

I guess your coilovers are really low. A side affect of running low is premature failure of suspension components operating outside their designed tolerances and driveshaft issues. When I had my octy vRS on coilovers I got fed up with the driveshaft catching so in the end increased the suspension ride height. Removing the FARB is a bad idea, the car will behave very unpredicatbly with loads of body roll.

You can get poly bushes for the FARB :) and i had to put shorter drop links on mine when i lowered it, thats the prob with going so low.

Dont take it off, and leave it off you silly boy!

Yeah i'm getting the cupra bushes done at unit18 soon but just wondered what the implications were running no FARB.. obviously i need one, so it will stay. Now i need to spend more money on shortened drop links

And i'm not that low:

I can sort some cheap shorter drop links mate, about £28 from memory (although yours shouldnt really need them at that height) does it only rub on lock one way ?

Mainly slightly turning and reversing, and when on full lock right it's awful sound. Someone in burger kind asked if it was supercharged, i lied and said yes :smirk: it's quite bad haha

I'll pm you seen as you never got back to me
