Hi everyone, I've been meaning to join briskoda since I got my Fabia vRS 2 years ago. It's a 55 plate black magic. I have loved every minute in it, I've done 30,000 miles in just under 2 years, on 55000 miles. I've wanted to modify it a bit but I do not have the technical capabilities, for alas, I am a girl (perhaps the jokes shouldn't start this early). Not a racer type anymore, sensible driving but love the feeling of using the power if I need to.

Reason for joining now? I have problem with it :'( I have very limited time to get it in to a garage right now - such a tight schedule as I'm just finishing a 6 week training course in Personal Training down in Hatfield and then in a week, I start a brand new job, going back to teaching kids in Suffolk. Anyway, I think it's an engine mount problem. I had a very similar experience with my mk3 Golf, my car previous to this one. When in early gears, there is much lurching and squeaking from the left hand side of the car, the noise is getting louder and I felt it rocking earlier this evening, like the steering was going. My car is vital to what I do. Both getting to my new job but I also teach fitness classes in evenings, so transport is vital to get to places. I can get the car in to a garage on Friday but between then I need to get to Cambridge and back from Hatfield, so really worried and would be grateful if you have advice. I'll try and find the appropriate part of the forum and post the problem there.

Apart from the technical stuff, in the 2 years I have been driving this car, I still wave, flash or draw attention to my fellow vRS drivers, I get very excited when I see another one. I only ever got one smile off an Octy driver and no one else responds to my excitement, I can't be the only one who waves at fellow vRS drivers? :p

Anyway, one day, I aim to get the nice blue Octavia vRS, only problem is I'm not sure I'd park it too well...

There's the self parking option I'm in then, now I just need to save enough to buy it! Other option is if I could find a 2007 Fabia vRS anywhere to buy, I get even more excited when I see one of those about

I'm an AA member, but surely I need to break down first? Looking likely though at this rate, if something falls off, maybe the exhaust manifold.

Hurrah for waving! I'm near Cambridge normally, but travel to Norwich quite a bit. Managed to get a man who can (sometimes called a mechanic) to look at it in good time. I need a new long reach arm on the left side, so not engine mount at all, yay. Suspension stuff I take it? Considering how many potholes I've been over in the last 6 weeks, it isn't the biggest surprise. It was actually my original guess to the problem.

I tried simultaneously waving at 2 electric blue vRS'sdirectly across and behind me on the A1M junction (with Hatfield, where Tescos is), on Friday, what surprised me most wasn't that it was one brand new Octy but that the other car, the 2007 Fabia was driven by the oldest man with the best flatcap I've ever seen, I will never judge a book by it's cover again, maybe. Still no waves back though :(
