Best way to blend touch up paint?

Featured Replies

Anyone know a good technique to blend a touch up job? I'm open to going all the way to machine polishing if needed.

if they are stone chips you are touching in, slightly over fill ( build the coats up dont try to fill in one go ) then wet sand and machine polish

Depends on size of repair and if metallic. Blending a medium size repair with metallic paint is a highly skilled job. It's often easier to respray the entire panel.

If simply stone chips, 2nd post is spot on.

Mix 50/50 with laquer & apply with a cocktail stick or very thin artist brush & build up In thin layers as way described In post 2, but let each coat dry before adding another. If you need to apply primer before hand, again apply with a cocktail stick/thin artists bruch, but make sure It doesn't touch the sides of the scratch/chip otherwise you'll have a grey ring around the repair In question after wet sanding.

Thanks guys; some good advise there I'm sure. Are there any particular products I should use after the job to help blend such as t-cut etc?
