Fabia vRS not too clever..

Featured Replies

My Dad's 53 plate Fabia vRS is not too clever.

Has had one or two probs with electrics over the last few months, central locking being funny etc.

Yesterday the power steering went and the warning lights all came on.

Today he started up and all the yellow warning lights are on but engine ran ok, still no power steering.

Switched enghine off with key, engine kept running, removed key from ignition, engine still running,

he engaged first gear and engine stopped??

What do you think?? And if so how much to repair :S

Thanks

Not good, sounds like more than an ecu problem?

Take it to a Skoda specialist and get them to diagnose before shelling out £££'s

Would diagnose with vagcom first. It normally pulls up any faults of an electrical nature.; Hopefully the PAS is just the angle sensor, or it has run day of PAS fluid for some reason (They do weep a bit sometimes - mine does)

Code scan will probably show a load of +B rail low codes. Sounds like a duff battery to me.

Sounds like corrosion/wiring loom related problems to me...

I've got a fault code reader if you're over Falmouth way at all...

Can't a vacuum pump failiure cause it to keep running? I might be miles off and have no idea about dervs, but thought I heard it mentioned somewhere.
