I think that looks really smart, nicely done

Looks good. Can you post a pic of the pipework underneath?

I like it too,nice job

Good job looks standard rather than a corsa boy special

I saw a Fabia the other day with twin pipes on each side. The effect was rather spoiled by the fact that the 2 on the right were obviously dummies, a fact given away

by the cold start steam and vapour coming from the left side only.

I like yours very much. They are both real aren't they?

thanks guys yes they are both real as can be seen from the double barreled black smoke when gunning it..lol :giggle: The only way I could do it was a bit drastic to be honest as there is not enough room to run a pipe behind the bumper, so I cut 2 holes in the back side of the wheelwell , and fitted a pipe through the holes, and rubber mounted the pipe on u clamps bolted to the well floor. Then I welded a 90 degree bend on the rhs of the pipe and fitted a 90 degree bend attatched to some flexi pipe and fitted that to the tailpipe. The other pipe was made up with some pipe swan-necked to the right angle and 2 end tips attatched.Ithen finally fitted some half inch thick rubber to the inside where the pipes go through the well ( to absorbe any vibration) and there it is . I will post up some pics of the pipework at the weekend as im fitting a stainless cover in the wheelwell to prevent any heat transfer. At the mo, I have a made up one in place and there is no vibration /droning from the exhaust and no hot spots in the boot. .If at any time I want to revert it back to standard ill just remove the pipes and weld the removed disc s back in the wheel well.I dont think I would have done this on a new car , but as I said it is a bit drastic cutting 2 holes in the wheel well but I needed to see if it could be done, and what it would end up like. :)

Looks good

Sorry, but the pipes look too small to me......

the pipes are 60mm diameter but I didnt want the chav dustbin look. I have a pair of 75 mm tailpipes and may try them at a later date.

75mm will beef them up, and look better than the pea shooters :)

that looks sweet mate but do as the others said.bigger pipes

Errrrrr........ Is that safe !!!!

You got an exhaust running through your boot floor !!!

Safe lol HELL NO :D

Just 1 big fire hazard.

Then theres the chance of a leak of the gas,s lol

But then we all know its the look that counts :giggle:

diesel exhausts get no where near as hot as the petrols, as for fumes as long as the weldings good he shouldn't have a problem,

TBH from the outside it looks nice, but knowing how its done, lol er I think its daft, and looks hideous and has ruined the car.

the mk1 was not designed to have tails either side. if you wanted that then get the A4,

A for trying mate, but a big F for how its done,

I hope you dont intend on selling the car? youve prob nocked 500-1k off the price of it by butchering the boot.

good ext look tho.

Is it legal to run the exhaust through the inside of the car?

WTF Having the exhaust going through the boot!!!!!!!

Umm not for me if it had a leak it would fill the car with carbonmonoxide!! id change that........................ soonest!!

And to be fair its probably not legal to do that, infact ill put my neck out and say its not!

Id say your right there mate, to do that then you would need to make a tunnel there first then put the zorst thru that, ie put a bigger pipe in there first.

lorry fuel only gives you headache anyway lol, unlike petrol that puts you to sleep, lol

there is now a stainless cover over the pipe and there is NO heat transfer at all , the boot floor and ,the cover are both as cool as normal, and the pipe is now in a sealed environment, so no gas can escape if the weld failed. Ive spoken to a garage bloke and he said that as its only the tailpipe that is in the inside, its ok as its a diesel and you can get fumes in the car even with the window open normally. If I need to remove it all that I have to do is reseal the sides of the wheel well and there you go. Anyway ,next time you buy a car, check the wheel well for modifications ... I know I always do

Well at least its safe!

But its still a bodge and looks like one!!!!

ok mr perfect....but we cant all be bolt on billys and spend 1000s on something that makes every car look mass produced and dare to be different..so you dont like it ..so what ,I do and thats all that matters, like I said I wouldnt have done it on a new car , but mines done 150k plus ,still runs like a dream and owes me nothing, and I suppose no-ones chopped up the front of their car to fit an intercooler ? if you dont try , you dont get anywhere.

well said mate,

I do like the tail pipes and I think it looks good but knowing how its been done puts me off, but then like you said it cant be done with out doing what you did, its your car and you do with it as you want, good on you.

so long as you like it, thats all that matters

For info, a cat equipped petrol exhaust doesn't contain enough CO to kill you either.

I was a bit concerned when you showed the pipe running through the boot from a heat point of view but with a shield over it, I'd have no worries. Nice one mate, looks great and an ingenious solution on how to do it.
