How do I switch the automatic locking doors off !

Featured Replies

After turning the key and approx 20 seconds driving all locks engage in the car - and unlock when you switch the engine off. This may be good for safety but that clunking sound of locks closing each time you move off is distracting and irritating

Is there any way to switch this off ??

Many thanks

Jon

you'll need to find someone with vagcom to do it - have a look at the list in the vagcom forum.

How can you say it is irritating ? there is a slight clunk just as you set off, and thats it.

One of these day you will be glad you have it, pull up at some lights and someone jumps in and tries to hi-jack the car, or opens the boot and nicks all your goods in the boot.

and to turn it off you need Vag-com

Perhaps I'm exaggerating when I say irritating !!

I am aware these cables and shareware (Rosstech) are available on ebay - do these work okay or is this best left to someone with the full kit ??

I think you need the full version (at least a registered version). Being somewhat deaf I don't really notice the locking noise.

All the shareware version does is allow you read and clear fault codes, to alter settings you need the full version which can only be bought from ross-tech or an official reseller like gendan.

your dealer will do it free of charge, can set it to open all doors with one button press. Now that was irritating having to press it twice :|
