Thought I would say hi. I am here as a refugee from honestjohns website woes, but I am actively looking for a Skoda, preferably a brisk one!

I currently run a 2000 (X) Focus Ghia, and although it has been a fine and reliable servant big bills are looming so its time for a change. I have more or less decided I want an Octavia II, Elegance 2.0 FSI probably of 2006 vintage. I'm sure you will all shoot me down in flames if I have made the wrong choice, but at the moment I think it is the right one for me. I don't do many miles, so diesel is not necessary.

Hello Alastair, I've been here a while already finding out all about the Octavia, reading threads, issues, remedies, good dealers, things to look out for, offers and so on.

Just waiting for my local dealer to get back to me when they've found me a TDI vRS DSG for an extended test drive and I could be well on my way to being an owner.

If your name is anything to go by you'll make the right decision, best of luck with your search.
