Disappointed newby

Featured Replies

Hi recently bought a skoda fabia (2000) 1.4 comfort ) on the recomendation they are a reliable car, on driving home from garage PAS failied completely to the garages credit got the car towed back and fixed the fault although PAS light is on the usual flickering lights and stiff steering when parking! Hubby just fitted a new temp sensor as the temp gauge has a mind of its own and the car refused to start from cold I have to say that I have been disapointed with my new car and on reading postings on this very useful site i have found alot of people in the same boat . Having driven VWs for the past 15 years I have decided newer cars are not always better, too much stuff for the electronic gremilins to mess with!!!

welcome to briskoda

Welcome to the site :) bags of info on here.

Sorry to hear of your problems, unfortunately I'm not too clued-up on the power steering issues. Lots of folk on here who know better though!

err, if its a 10 year old car then its likely to need work doign to it whatever "reliable" make. My reliable 10 year old BMW is about to cost me 1200 notes today after needing a brake pipe fixing.

Hiya Citrus.

I'm not an expert of the Furbie, but I think you'll find most of the problems will be cured by a new steering angle sensor and a new engine temperature sensor.
