The lacgour on my side skirts is pealing on both sides, where the back door is, how can i stop it, tidy it up, and re lacquer it?

Probably water getting under the laquer due to stonechip damage. Best way to repair, is to flat back all the old laquer, and then respray the sills.

can you just get the old lawyer off and what with? Then respray laquer. Can I get hold of materials easy. What about calipers too.

If you haven't done this sort of work before, get a bodyshop to do it.

The old layer of laquer needs sanded back with wet and dry sandpaper, 400 grit, then finished down with diminishing grades, 800,. 1200 used wet. The area then needs to cleaned with panel wipe, the surrounding area masked off, and then the sills resprayed with fresh laquer. You need a spray gun for a proper job, and as the laquer is a two pack product, special breathing gear, or you WILL kill yourself if you breath in the fumes while spraying.

There is a cheaper way, it depends on your love for the car / paint job or if it is just a runabout...

I had some rust on the bottom edges of the sills and rubbed it down, masked up a straight line about an inch up from the bottom with tape, then brush applied some black underbody protection. I did both sides to match and IMO it looks fine.
