okay so this will be my 3rd thread since my problems started but i thought i should keep you guys updated / i really want to rant!!! :giggle:

This living nightmare started in january when my EGR valve and turbo died simultaneously. an intercooler, turbo, EGR valve and 1600 quid later that was sorted.

1200 miles later it developed a whining sound. found mouting bolts missing from the alloy section of intake pipe above the rocker cover and the rubber pipe on the intake side of the turbo was hanging on for dear life! - quality work done by the garage!! :wonder:

got that sorted and still had the noise.

replaced the rubber L shaped boost pipe from the top of the intercooler, it was getting slightly loose. set me back a whopping £23.40

a week later had my MOT, oil & filter change (turbo warrenty) handbrake caliper and rear bumpstops replaced. another 400 quid.

to top things off my clutch is slipping in 5th and 6th. had two quotes VW - £750 fitted (cant remember if VAT was included) , skoda - £580 fitted inc VAT. looking at another 450-500 from either for a flywheel if i need it. looking at my luck i will asume i will!!

today i was driving home, pulled over to let postie past, pulled away and bang. off pops a boost pipe. this is the lower one out the bottom of the intercooler. its a 90 degree bend and straighted out it would be hmmm 5 inches long. proberly half that of the upper one i replaced which cost 23.40 + vat.

jacked her up and put it back on and came home. on the end of the pipe there are two teeth which connect to the intercooler. they had worn down quite abit and im assuming this was what has been causing my whining sound, leaking air. now i got a quote for this new piece of pipe and im in shock. £76! SEVENTY SIX POUNDS plus vat. same price from Dub and skoda. this is rediculous!!!! oh and while i was down there i found a cut on the inside tyre wall on the passenger side, both fronts are getting low anyway. and i need new rear discs.

Now i just want to point out i dont drive like an idiot and i am VERY kind to it!!!! i bought it just over a year ago on 39k and now im on 71k. the warrenty doesnt cover me anymore because i didnt get it serviced within 6k. :'( a mistake i wont ever make again!!

im just wondering what did i do to diserve this? was i perhaps hitler in a former life!? im going to choose to laugh about it now and possibly cry later rather than get depressed.

if anyone would like to donate to the: helpbengethiscargoinghowitshoundbecausehehasnomoneyandisreallyreallydesperatefund.co.uk

thanks! :giggle:

maybe you should do your own comic relief cycle ride from John O'groats to lands end

Why no warranty?

Service schedule states 10k or 12months,whichever the sooner.

At least you can still breath. After all, it's just a car :)

Not having much luck really are you? Know the feeling:thumbdown:

For clutches, try this thread and check out MoggyTechs' link as it seems pretty cheap. Although I don't know what fitting would be.

it stated i had to have it serviced by them and as it only just had a service i just did the oil and filter myself when it wanted it. didnt read the warrenty thing because im an idiot. :dull:

and TriggerFish you left no link....

Do the pikey mod and put two cable ties around the connectors of the boost pipe and the intercooler, then link the two together with a combination of either two or three cable ties.

One of my pipes is looking loose at the intake of the intercooler, so i've just backed it up with the above pikey mod.

I was running around for about a week with cable ties holding the other boost pipe in after it went with a rather large pop.
