Can anyone recommend a reputable re-map company that can re-map for me and what is the cost and increase in power?

Ben @ Shark Performance did my PD140, transformed the car (you can tell straight away the extra power it delivers) revs very clean up to the red band and getting an extra 1 MPG! supposed to get between 30 - 40 BHP and a lot more torque. I think the going rate is about £300.

What area are you in ? I have booked mine into Awesome Gti in Manchester (my wife has an A2) and we have heard many excellent reports, also Stealth also have many excellent reports they are Warwickshire I believe.

Most of the reviews I have heard suggest best results are obtained by a remap and rolling road. It will be iteresting to hear what they eeek out of your 170, please post and let us know where you go and how you got on.

As a prospective CR170 owner, I looked into this the other day and one recurring thing I found was that the VW CR170 engine rarely produces less than 180bhp and more often around 190bhp and that a remap doesn't yield a great deal more power over standard. It might liberate a decent amount of midrange torque though.

My current BMW 535d was re-mapped by e-maps (who I would heartily recommend) and they quote 200bhp and 420Nm for the CR170.

What have your findings been with the 2.0 CR170 engine?

Are there the equivalent of adaption values in the DSG gearbox? The ZF auto 'box in my 535d was reset when the car was remapped and it certainly makes the best use of the extra (660Nm) of torque available to it.

@Will is that the same for a Fabia vRS? My dad just got one and wants his mapping.
