Tail pipe advice please...

Featured Replies

Thinking of getting a new stainless tail pipe for my exhaust, two questions really, how easy are they to remove existing and

fit new one, and can anyone recommend a good place to get one?

Also feel free to put some pictures up of your own, food for thought like

Thanks

It's fixed to the rear box so would need to be cut off.

Or buy a decent system :) Plenty out there :)

Yeah, didn't realise it was fixed until I looked underneath earlier, cheers.

Maybe a consideration in the future ;)

Just got a scorpion fitted, would deffo recommend it, looks nice and sounds great over 3k when booting it!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did that cost??

Blueflame cat back:

Was about £250ish fitted at unit 18, looks the same as the blueflame above, but I cam stick a picture up if you wanted. Pottering about it sounds no different, and I was half expecting it to be a tiny bit louder, but it does sound alot nicer, just deeper mainly. Well worth it IMO

A couple of pics would be great. Unit 18 are fitting one of these for me this week but as yet i have not seen one fitted

Cheers

Any other systems that use a twin separated 'Jet' style pipe, like Milltek? Would prefer that to any oval style.

Steve

same as jamjar.....blueflame

There'll be pics of my new Blueflame once it's fitted on Wednesday...should sound interesting with the decat.

Click the link in my signature to hear mine compared to standard.

 Thanks for all the replies, I'm going to ask what may well be a silly question but,

do any of these systems improve emissions levels?

Diseasels are only tested on smoke output, not emissions, so it will not affect it at all.

Mine is Blueflame with custom tailpipe so that the soot finds its way out down onto the road instead of out the back and all over the rear bumper

before the st3 was done i had full blueflame decat and can honestly say i cudnt notice any noise difference wen driving.

I`m not a massive fan of the miltec, its ok, but i prefer this style.

Matt

oh and i notice some people have issues with the exhaust sitting right, but to me it looks spot on!

Cheers Matt, Thanks for that, I;m glad i opted for the oval pipe rather than the twin pipe.

Its sits really nice and looks subtle. Just what is was after

Matt

Yeah thats just what i was after, kinda OEM+. Couple of my mates have twins, but i really wasnt that keen tbh.

I think the twin 3" tips look more standard than a massive oval like them :D

But then again i do have twin 3" tips ;)

Hummmm, they are nice, but i think that the oval looks better, it fills the bumper cut out, i always felt the old one was a little too small. I did look at the jetex ones, but that just looked like a std one that had been mashed up a bit imo
