Sell me the Golf wheel and put the money towards a Maxidot and aircon from Shark emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Flat Bottomed.

Im pretty sure its a 2 min job to swap the Airbag Covers over.

If not then the badge will easily come off and just glue it to the new wheel and Roberts your Mother's Brother

put the money towards a Maxidot from Shark

Easy to do with the Right Cluster

aircon from Shark

Absolutley impossible to retro-fit Dual Zone unless you have deeeeeeep pockets

The 2 systems are completely different.

Surely with no maxidot and no dual zone and no leccy windows the stereo is out of place, can't they fit you a nice retro Dolby tape player or even an 8 track??

Why go for all the latest gear when he could have this:-

Don't be stoooooooooooooooopid, the brimmeister only as 78's

Meh, dual zone is over-rated imho, don't think I'd miss it at all. It can be retrofitted with the right knowledge, its only a different air box and associated gubbins. emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

deffo the first or last the middle one looks pants

Oi - just coz you've got a B & Q stereo in yours :p

It was B & Q wasn't it ? ;)

yes its B&O but it wasnt worth £4,500 upgrade

Different Control

Different Loom

Different Fusing

Different Fans

Different Compressor

Standard Climatic works off a Barlan cable ( i think thats the correct term im doing this from memory ). So when you turn the dial it turns a cable which in turn turns cogs etc to direct the air, Control the Temp & the Fan Speed. The Fan only has 4 Speeds aswell

In the Dual Zone all this is Electronic and the fan has about 9 settings iirc for speed. Plus the Temp can be set lower and also differ from driver & passenger side by up to 3 Deg iirc.

So its a bit more than Air Box & Gubbins. When i last looked into it i was quoted around £4k to do the conversion.

So Meh to you Tom :moon: :moon: :p :p

Defo the flat bottomed steering wheel. Don't go back to standard, those flappy paddles are smart.

Another person that will hopefully be playing with flappy paddles soon will be Dirty_ Dan_the _v8man:giggle:

So you could get climatronic AND DSG retro-fitted for about £10k-£12k - BARGAIN !!!!!

Haven't read through the whole thread, so not exactly sure why everyone's wittering about climatronic and dual zone?? :p

Back ON TOPIC, the clear option is number 3, which I can personally recommend as it works superbly in a 'Rocco B)

Feels great too....

I wouldn't be seen dead with no. 2 (the VW effort). Not unless I could put on a black vinyl lace-on steering wheel cover.

Am I the only person uses these now? I had to get the last one from e-Bay, the car accessory shops don't sell them...

Flat bottom with paddles for sure. I'm sure a badge swap before fitting and decal fitted over work suit fine. I have a mate who I could convince to knock you something up, or maybe KTP could help you out.

i know removing the vw badge isnt possible due to air-bag issues

so why not have a vinyl skoda badge made to exact size stick it on hey-presto !!
