IM READY TO ORDER

Featured Replies

Hello again,

I am luckily in a position to order my Yeti, however i just cannot decide on what colour. Im steering towards steel grey OR cappucino. Has anyone got any pictures of their car in these colours and how the colours are fairing well in this c**p weather. I have also decided to go for 1.2 tsi S model rather than the E model. The down side i have been informed there is approx 12 week wait. :-(

Kind regards

Claurette

Look on the pictures thread at the top of the posts page. There are plenty of reds on there, the odd white, a black and an Aqua Blue added today. There is also a Muscavado thread going on here somewhere.

As always it is a matter of personal choice. I wanted a bright blue colour but there is not one available, the two blues are a little dark for me. I think the interior of the Yeti is a dark one so I felt the need for a slightly brighter or lighter colour on the outside. The plaques in the showrooms bear only slight resemblance to the colour on the car so you are right to try to get a more accurate picture.

Hi Lettie,

There are plent of pictures on here of different colour Yeti's. Have you check the forum owners picture thread?

I know what a nightmare colour choice can be - i was torn between cappucino and muscovado.

If i were you, i would seriously consider white and use the £400 to some worthwhile option that make driving the car more enjoyable/comfortable. If it has to be mettalic aqua blue is nicer IMO than steel grey. Yeti is a funky car and it look best in different colours than found on your everyday VAG group vehicle.

Krooked.

Sorry. I am such a muppet. Having read your thread again I see that you are wanting pictures of Steel Grey or Cappucino, not the colours I mentioned. I am scuttling away feeling very foolish.

I am sure I have seen pictures of both on here somewhere and both looked good.

I have steel grey - looks very smart, and hides the dirt well.

There are some Cappucino cars on the Forum. Mine is Cappucino and, in my opinion, is a much softer colour than the grey AND it does not show the dirt!!! so less cleaning needed.

I have also noticed that it is easy to spot in a car park! I was not too sure at first about the colour, I prefer green and the choice was my wife's, but it has grown on me.

Here's a steel grey one:

The 2nd picture makes it look a little lighter than the colour really is.

I find the colour is growing on me (it was SWMBO's choice, I'd have probably gone for aqua) and looks sophisticated in a Merc sort of a way ;)

The ordering is the relativily easy bit, it's the waiting that's tough :(

Oh, and as for how dirty it gets (the car, not the wife :giggle: ) , well it's a week old and i've not felt the urge to give it a wash. However, to put that in perspective, it's been about 5 months since I washed mine!!

Steel grey every time. Seen both in the raw side by side and the steel grey just suits the car more. It makes the chrome on the bonnet stand out more as the colour is that bit darker. In my opinion, the cappucino is a bit wishy washy so I ordered the muscovado...

Here's our Yeti- a Cappucinno Elegance 2.0 TDI CR 140bhp 4x4

with Gobi Leather Upholstery,

Panoramic Sunroof,

Silver Roof Rails,

Mud Flaps front and rear,

YETI material fixed floor mats with YETI rubber ones on top!,

Plastic Boot Liner,

Detachable Tow Bar (very well hidden! )

and lots of nets for the boot area...

Taken on Bromyard Downs overlooking Herefordshire on Monday 1st March 2010!

Out of interest Lettie, why did you decide to go for the S model instead of the E? I was in a similar position and decided late in the day to go for the S model because I didn't want to go without the safety features (ESP, knee airbag) and spare tyre option available on the S model. I don't think that we have a Yeti E owner on the forum yet.

I actually got a glimpse of my first 'other' Yeti on Saturday - fleetingly as it was heading south (amd I was going north) on the M40 near Oxford. Looked okay but obviously not as cool as white... emoticon-0105-wink.gif

Shrub, I decided for the S model for exactly the same reasons as you mentioned, ESP, Spare wheel. But I would have liked to drive an E model and compare against the S had the choice been available, as im not sure if there would have been any difference at all as everything else is exactly the same, apart from interior.. but would have been nice to compare. Oh and i wanted to have the option of parking sensors which dealer told me i could get with S model.

Thanks to everyone who replied and gave pictures, however they look stunning in any picture so im guessing it has confused me more. Off to dealers today so will have to make my mind up by midday. Oh decisions, decisions!!!!! who would have thought it would be so hard to choose a colour.....however am verging towards the cappacino......but then again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps if i persuaded OH to get one then he could have the steel grey...problem solved.

Well i will keep looking at the piccies till lunch time, then take the plunge into Yeti world....will keep you posted. Once again thanks for all your views and pictures

kind regards

Claurette ;)

A very fine choice indeed.

Irrespective of the colour, you'll love the car.

An excellent choice. If I had paid extra for metallic I would likely have gone for Steel Grey as well. I have been waiting eight weeks now so hopefully no more than a month to goemoticon-0100-smile.gif

Welcome Claurette :hi: ... to Yeti World- sometimes a surreal experience! B)

Your wait will go quicker whilst following and contributing to the many threads on here... and it should be fun :giggle: and informative along the way... with only the odd squabble :@ or two... :punch::whew:

Look forward to seeing your piccies soon!

Ah - slight technical hitch with my post (as above) - I meant to say the other Yeti spotted was a Steel Grey one but the words didn't appear. Noticed it made no sense (like most of my posts...).

Good choice, Claurette! emoticon-0144-nod.gif

Shame they don't do sprint yellow !
