Split pipe...HELP!

Just out of interest i've been getting bad MPG of late, i'm in the middle of changing the thermostat at the min (i say in the middle as they forgot to include a new seal!!) due to it not getting to full 90 running temperature.

Will that and this split hose cause bad MPG?

I had a duff thermostat which wasn't shutting properly and that caused bad mpg, only by a couple of mpg though.

When my pipe split I didn't even notice until I removed the top cover, no lights warnings or mpg drop.

Thermostat caused a noticable drop in mpg though about 4mpg iirc and I could not get over 30 on the mway.

That sounds similar to what I've been getting, again i didn't notice the pipe was split until i had to change a coil pack!

Where does that pipe go out of interest?

Hi

Glad you got the pipe and getting your hands dirty fitting :D

Is the coolant temp sensor OK?

That can cause issues with fuel economy too

I thought it was an easy question , but now I dont know

It is a breather as far as I am aware

Sarah

it's the cranckcase breather.

It vents pressure of the top end back into the intake afaik.

Bit vague I know lol
