In fairness it wasnt Morgans fault and I'm sure Jason would take that result on a track they are poor on rather than one they were set to win on, still sad all the same.

Tordoff massively better than Neate. Good first 2 races for Plato!

  • I'll always support Plato purely because he winds people up but has the skills to back it up, unlike a certain Chris James who has blocked me on Twitter. I didn't say word to him either With Turkingt

I think Rouse is a great driver but his numbers are flattered by the fact that his second title was inherited due to politics  and his 4th was almost a given since he had the only turbocar in the top

Quite.

I'm a Plato fan too, and was at Thruxton last Sun. Was gutted to see his DNF in the last race but suppose something was gonna happen to him eventually - he's finished all other races so far which is unusual this early on into the season :p

At least he didn't flip it over the fence in church. Lot easier to repair one corner...

Church corner really needs looking at - 1 major incident is one thing, but 3 is ridiculous... especially when 2 cars end up OVER the barrier. Time to lay down some deep layers of gravel and introduce some better walls (perhaps even make the run-off longer).

Other than that the racing was spot on. Though saying that, Neal and Sheddon bullying Collard on R3 was a bit out of order - I'm not suprised Collard pushed Neal off the track.

Yeah I felt for Collard a bit, glad Neal didnt finish as payback. Karma will do it's job

Yes. ruined his race. What else could it be ?

Er, not everyone is a Jason Plato fan.

Make the run-off longer at Church!! It already goes 3/4 of the way to Andover! ;)

Very brassed off at ITV.com/btcc for saying they would be showing the super touring race(s) that they couldn't do because of some silly tennis match. Should have been on at 8pm tonight and all I get is flippin' storage wars.

and?

Nice to see a result for my fav team in R3. Aron Smith did really well to defend #1 for the whole race.

However... I've been saying for a while that Team BMR are running the wrong car... and now I've proved it by producing the "proper" version :giggle:

And Turkington doesn't have a drive either. History repeating

And Honda haven't committed to a works team either.

Mind you the FIA touring car commission have just approved BTCC rules as 1 of their 2 options for new series around the globe, so there'll be a good market for used NGTC motors now the British grid is maxxed out.

Dynamics should flog those fugly Honda Tourers for a start - I thought the 2011 restyle of the hatch ruined it already - but the estate

Andy Priaulx signed for WSR. Didn't see that coming. So that's Turks out again then if JP gets the third seat.

I can't understand why WSR would out Turkington? Is he wanting too much £££? Or do the team (Wrongly IMO) think that there are better drivers available?

He is the class of the field, I really rate Plato so he is a welcome addition to the team, but Priaulx and Tordof may be a risk......

Andy Jordan signed for 888 MG

Money, eBay have pulled the plug and the team need drivers that bring sponsors going from what Turkington has said, which is a shame because he is a top driver imo. No so different to F1.

Thought as much, I hope he gets a drive at another team, maybe 888 alongside Jordan?

Priaulx is a has been - sacked from DTM 2 years ago.  BMW only send him to lesser competitions now.  Commercially valuable as a 4 times champ but not fast enough these days.

Which just proves that not everyone can drive a currentish DTM car. Even if you can, there are some years when one of the 3 marques has so much advantage that everyone else is racing for 5th place.

Exactly.

I know a driver that might be on the grid and the amount of "sponsorship" money they need to bring along as part of their package (even though they are a proven driver) is amazing.

If they can't prove enough funding will be forthcoming to the team they don't even get considered for a place.

Paul O'Neil was offered a drive with Team HARD...... he just had to cough up £450k!!!!!

Yes, that's pretty much the same throughout the teams that are not near the top of the pile.

I guess it's the same all the way through Motorsport, even proven drivers need to bring some financial backing. It's not a cheap business... Its a shame, that talented drivers are being left without drives because they don't have the required funding.

I have a friend who is trying to secure a season drive in the UK Mini challenge, even that requires a £32k backing from sponsors or private funding.
