Yeah, It was the first I'd heard that the 7 time Aussie F3 champions had joined BTCC, although since they run Carrera Cup as well there's a bit of a link.

We're always at Croft and Knockhill for 9am. No point in paying for a day's racing and not getting there until the BTCC starts.

Well, the rule changes have spiced it up a bit.

 

Andy Jordan must be well annoyed, getting pushed off twice at the same corner.

 

And it was amazing nobody was seriously hurt or worse when Aron Smith went off down the Craners and the barrelled through the pack without hitting anyone.

Thruxton next - now that'll be scary with the fairly random tyre/ballast combinations slowing down different cars at different times.

The Honda's are ridiculous! Pushing to pass isn't on, despite the commentators just calling it "abrupt"... If a younger driver tried that they'd want to burn him.

They did, to Aaron on his rookie BTCC year, and the politics that goes on between teams is almost enough to make you lose your lunch before they go to the stewards office.

 

Tyres will not be such a factor at Thruxton as they will be taking harder compounds due to the high load nature of Thruxton. However, there will still be a hard and softer split on the day, just not as soft as the normal soft compound.

 

The thing that really is doing the damage to the clock at the moment is not so much the increase in ballast this year, but more where the box has been relocated to.

Action packed qually at Thruxton - races should be epic.

I was surprised the race 3 winner was even allowed to start it - after spinning another car in front of the entire pack in race 2.

 

I guess it was judged as a racing incident - a very dangerous one to be sure.

Just watched half of it that I recorded, the mrs was moaning so shall watch it on my own tomorrow, looked good though! 

That track is scary on FORZA, you must be a looney to thrash a Touring car around the real thing.

 

Clarkson's nemesis Sabine did well in the first race - although I think her lap in the Ford Transit on TG was more impressive.

I think it was pretty good to watch, but did get a bit processiony.

Saying that, the commentators did say that the touring cars would be able to qualify in the top 10 of the vln races with the gt cars. That sounded very impressive.

Well yes. It's hard to not be impressed by a woman in a van swearing at motorcyclists who are getting in her way.

Missed the whole Oulton Park event - there was no way I was wasting time watching TV in Las Vegas from 3AM onwards.

 

Sounds like it was good though.

Motorbase and Mat Jackson shock quickest in tyre testing, having not raced the Focus all year.

 

It'll be good to have them back in the races.
