Well the Land Rover went today, so now i need to find a replacement.

The only requirements really are the ability to do 40mpg average and be around £4500.

So far after about 10mins looking i have come up with these,

^^^ a good known garage,

^^^ Looks nice, but i think on sale from Arfur Daly motors.

^^^^^ Dealer selling from home, but local.

Something a little different,

My sensible head says the 1st one, as it is the lowest mileage and a know dealer.

What are the thoughts of fellow members?

No contest for me, has to be the Panda 100HP... they are just so much fun. Two things, ad states its an Abarth but there is no such thing as an Abarth Panda so thats bull. Second, the ride is massively hard, try it first. Cant comment on the Octys as I just dont like them at all... sorry.

Mike - it's gotta be the Panda ;) As above, there's no such thing as the "Abarth version" so someone has gone a bit bonkers with the badges but that may well prove to be a good haggling point. Rest of the car looks standard and in good condition and of course it's in the best (and fastest) colour ;) I'd also be interested to know what tyres it's running as they're certainly not the factory-fit F1's or the Kumho KU-31's I opted to replace them with :D

I think "massively hard" may be an overstatement - no-one I've taken out in mine has complained about the ride and even my Mum has gone and bought one. :D

Well i enquired about the Panda, Have an uneasy feel about it, could only do viewings in the evening, and was adamant that it is an Abarth.

So i Said no thanks.

So I'm going to go and see about the top choice, the Ambiente tomorrow.

May not be the best spec out of the list, but seems the most sensible choice.

I don't know the dealers, but I'd still give the L&K and the mk2 Elegance a look as well.

I'd be well put off the Panda by it being a Fiat, the looks, the BS about a non-existant variant, and the general attitude. That said, if the guy's a registered dealer, but doing it part-time, only viewing in the evenings might be reasonable.
