Take the glove box out and have a feel about, I bet you will find it

Can't you request new ones FOC? ( http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Diol1/DoItOnline/DG_10015764 ) They also say you can drive for 5 days after it has expired, but seeings as yours is lost, I don't know what the rules would be.

With the glove box out, there's still a lot of internals between you and the bulk head, but it only takes a second, so no harm in trying.

*Edit*

Ah, it says it's £7 for a replacement! Rip off!

Best find it quick or failure to display will become very expensive

Fortuantely at the time I had a company car, and the tax disc (stolen / missing)

First day in Edinburgh I got SEVEN £50 FAILURE TO DISPLAY TICKETS From the Blue Meanies

It took the company three days to get the replacement disc, by which time the Blue Meanies had wracked up £1250 fines in failure to display

(I was working as a network engineer repairing servers around EDIN and had to park at meters, so no option of hiding the car)

Obviously the company paid not me

It would have been cheaper to hire me a taxi for three days, or even a hire car, but that is Edin Blue Meanies for you they are like sharks with a sniff of blood

I have not a clue how you can get access to get it back SORRY
