14" Wheel Rims

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've managed to hit one of the newly formed caverns in the road and bent one of my wheel rims. I've tried my local scrap yards for a replacement and a couple of scrap yard search engines and only one has any wheels and wants £71 for a used rim and tyre!!!!

Does anyone know if there are any other wheels that are equivalent to the 14" steel rim fitted to the Fabia as all the scrap yards I've spoken to say I can only get one off another Fabia (I have 1.9 SDi with 165/70/14 tyre).

Thanks.

I have 5 14'' steel rims spare - no tyres on them. They are the 6j ones rather than the 5j your after

VW Polo 5 Stud and Mk2 Seat Ibiza 5 Stud steel wheels are exactly the same as the Steels on my 2001 Fabia SDI (though they all tend to have 185/60-14 tyres on them).

Whereabouts are you based?

I have some steel wheels that I'm sure I could be pesuaded to split if you wanted one... of course they have been sprayed white :D

Thanks guys, unfortunately didn't spot these replies in time for the weekend but got it all sorted.

In the end I have spoken to roughly 15 scrap yards / car breakers and submitted 3 different online aggregator requests. One of the scrap yards in Carterton, Oxfordshire suggested fitting some Mk4 Golf wheels they had so I took the 150 mile round trip (although I was already at another scrap yard that was already half way there who had told me they had some but then when I got there they only had 4 stud wheels!!). Fitted the Golf wheels without any bother (slightly wider than the Fabia rims, but no clashes). The cost was £20 per rim for two including taking my good tyres off and putting them on the Golf rims.

So even though I used up all of Saturday morning and took a 150 mile round trip it saved me £100 on what one of the online places were trying to charge. The Fabia keeps on rolling once more!
