Automatic windows

Featured Replies

Hi all,

One thing that is really bugging me is that the automatic windows feature only works if you insert the key into the door and hold in on lock. But it does not do it remotely of the key fob when you hold down the lock button.

Surely the technology is there to do it. is it just a case of enabling it on the ECU with VAG-COM or something? Sometimes when I am in the car with the engine running the windows don't go up and down automatically has anyone experienced this intermittent problem before?

Also on a few occasions when I have been driving around with my lights on when I come to stop I switch off all the lights and then go to get out of my car but the audible alarm goes of telling me that I have left my lights on, when looking on the outside of the car the parking lights are on. Anyone experienced this problem also?

Thanks, Andy.

There used to be a product called KVW100 that you plug into the OBD port and it enables auto close/open but I have e-maiiled various companies with no joy.

My octavia does the same thing with the parking lights on

Have you stopped with lights and indicator on, then switched off with the indicator still on? If so, then it's a feature.

What he said ^^^^

wow!! didn't know this was a feature! Handy!!

The KVW100 was a good buy. Only thing I couldn't get to work was the auto down. Auto closure was automatic as soon as you lock the car. I put it on my 2002 SEAT Leon. Would love to put it on the Fabia. They were only £25 delivered IIRC.

This is where I got mine from http://www.vagproducts.co.uk/kvw.html

And just to add......BLOODY HELL its gone up in price !!!!!!! emoticon-0183-swear.gifemoticon-0183-swear.gifemoticon-0179-headbang.gifemoticon-0121-angry.gif

Looks like I'm gonna have to wait a bit as there are more important things to sort on the car first. There's also a few more things on there I'm gonna have to look into getting as well.

I've e-mailed vagproducts a few times with nothing but an automated response from them

oh that is bad. They were good when I used them a few years ago. Wonder if they're actually still going or not ???

if not I wish they would change the automated response to "Thanks for your enquiry, however we are no longer here" :dull:

The KVW100 is also not guaranteed to work. Depends on your revision of the Fabia convenience module. I have one sat here which I keep meaning to try with this Fabia. It says it locks to the ECU of the car it's first used with, but worth a go :)

On my old Fabia it worked on remote lock/unlock with my sunroof but not windows!

Or have a look at AlienTech. A LOT more sophisticated than the KVW and the options are (almost) limitless. Some very cool stuff available. The install's a bit more involved though.
