Hot rear brake disc

Featured Replies

Just drove the usual 20 miles home and afterwards (not sure why) but i checked the rear discs. The one was pretty hot, couldn't hold a finger on for more than 2-3 seconds... the passenger side one was only mildly warm :wonder:

sign the drivers side might be binding slightly? I haven't noticed any noises etc. but seems a little strange

Got this aswell! Rear calipers need stripping down and greasing up, but need the proper winding back tool for the handbrake mechanism :D

handbrake lever on caliper sticking on ?

have you got the springs fitted to the lever ?

Probably not at the moment, I haven't fitted them meself! Will be calling the VW dealer tomorrow to get some ordered and fitted if they're not on there... cheapest thing to try

I did use the handbrake at the traffic lights near my house 3-4 times so may just be that :p
