Featured Replies

ho w the hell do u unscrew the aerial on a mk1 octy vrs? it gets so far but i cant remove it??

You just have to pull it mate, pull and twist. Theya re anti-theft so its just more difficult.

I did mine a few weeks ago, and just incase anyone is interested I bought this.....

It looks great, and signal is awesome too. I have had others in the past that had bad signal but not OEM parts.

cool thanks mate ive done it :)

Thanks, saw that link and bought one too!

Can I be cheeky and request pics of one of these fitted to an Octy?

I'll get one up when mine comes through but I doubt it'll be til the end of this week due to bank holidays. Unless someone else beats me too it first!

I just think a shorter aerial looks more modern. The longer spindly ones look very 90's!! emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

any updates on this aerial fitted with pictures - kinda fancy having a smaller aerial on mine

It just looks loads better, and it costs a fiver! Why would you wait to do it, get one ordered

Well, unscrewed the old one gave it a good pull and still the damned thing wont come out.

come on - lets get the pics up !!!

You need to pull a lot harder than you think, don't yank, just pullllll

Right, easy when you know how, simples. Must say it looks a lot smarter with the smaller aerial.

Pics of this by the end of today. Got mine through.

Pics as promised...

Arrived like this

Ok so the pictures aren't great, but my opinion is it looks more modern and less like a remote control car :D

Removal of the old aerial is just unscrew, lay flat and pull firmly and consistantly away from the base. Jerking movements don't really help to release it, steady firm pressure will be much less likely to inflict damage on the aerial base also.

whats the signal quality like of the stubby one mate?? does look loads better tho

From what I can tell, no loss or gain of signal quality. Seems to be exactly the same!

Have you changed the HU for a none standard one ???

Have you changed the HU for a none standard one ???

:+1:

A non-standard HU will require a power injector to supply power to the aerial amp in the base of the aerial mounting pointing.

anyone ? would that fit ?

anyone ? would that fit ?

It's a ball ache too do, head lining down an that :S

I bet it is , but at the moment the aerial keeps wanting to fall out thats why i been a new base and aerial . Would that one on ebay be ok ?

Anything can fit anything if you have time/money/skills

It should be okay by looking at it, but I'm no expert, the hole in your roof may not be big enough though, best whip yours out (lol) and check.

Best of luck
