VRS won't fire up! help!

Featured Replies

Hi guys ,car started fine this morning no problems at all then this afternoon started up 2 mins down the road seemed to be running on 3 cylinders and was smelling of sulphur.

used vagcom and it came up with the coil pack error on cylinder 3.

I took engine cover off and 2 of the coil packs had pushed up slightly. decided to double check all the wiring and noticed on cylinder 4 coil pack the wiring had stripped down to bare metal! i used a bit of insulation tape to seperate the individual wires. i put it all back together again tried to start it and it just turns over and won't fire up

tried to scan with vagcom but it can't communicate with the ecu the asr light is also now coming on!

any ideas guys im stumped please help

Sounds like you've blown a fuse, hopefully not the ECU! Have a good look around the fuses in the engine bay.

help!!!

There's a 5 amp one for the dashboard instrumentation and immobiliser which is in the fuse box inside the dash, can't remember what the number is but it should be in the manual, see if that one's blown, if so it won't start. Have you checked the fuses on top of the battery as well?
