VRS rear r/h caliper piston wont go back

Featured Replies

Read a bit on here about refurbing calipers due to sticking brakes etc, but want to change the pads but the piston wont wind back in (l/h is ok) so assuming best to get replacement caliper as don't know if reburbing would work, or worth the effort?

Thanks Chicken, yep using a tool and yep was aligned correctly (I did find your pic above when trying to do it at the w/e) it's stuck as stuck!

You haven't got a crushed brake line running to that brake have you? That'd stop it returning.

Easy enough to check, as if you open the the bleed nipple and then the piston pushes back then it's that.

Other than that it sounds like it's shafted! New piston/seals or just get a new calliper like I did. Got mine from here: http://www.vw.car-brakes.co.uk/

Or smack it with a huge hammer until something happens/breaks!
