Funny noise from clutch/gears

Featured Replies

Basically, recently when in reverse its the usual. Clutch down, into gear, reverse. Now, after i've got the car where I want it, I put the clutch back down...and there's this rattling.

If I rev the car, the rattling/vibrating increses in speed. If I take the car out of gear it stops...I'm not really sure what to think??

The only thing that's popped into my head is clutch release bearing?

I've no slip whatsoever, cars on 77k miles and is nearly standard. I'm a little worried as i'm booked in for a remap on Monday too.

Probably would be wise to get this problem fixed first and then think about a remap later...otherwise you could end up doing more damage to something you have no control over.

Possibly just the reverse gear cog spinning round with the input shaft.

Does it rattle if you crawl forwards and put the clutch down?
