345mm Cupra/r32/s3 Front Brake Upgrade

Featured Replies

I have searched but to no avail regards upgrading the front brakes.

When me vRS arrives lowering and a brake upgrade are my first prioritys. For those that have done it I guess it's a straight swap as the Octy vRS mk2 has the 312mm disc like my Leon FR? Is there any other mechanical differences that need to be altered too or is it a straight swap? I will be keeping an eye on VAG calipers on Ebay

Straight swap. Had them on my Edition 30 and they make a helluva difference.

One thing to be aware of though is that without a matching R32/S3 rear setup they will be a little snatchy but worth it for the dramatic improvement when required.

Thanks Hedge, it's purely for visual purposes to be honest. I can't help look at the Octavia and its red calipers and think, ''Is that it?!?'' Look too small on a bigger car!

Someone else is putting some on an Octy in the very near future ;)

Well I look forward to that then

Oh yes Pics to follow should be next week B) .

Do you have any pics of the calipar and disc setup to compare?

This what they looked like on my Golf.

Oh yes they are pretty big, Is that a 17" rim mate?

Gives the game away by saying 225/40/18 on the tyre. ;)

Just following up on this thread, can you post some pictures Chris ?

Really keen to get this done once the Octy lands. Just to confirm the OEM FL vRS Octy 312mm disc's will be okay with the Cupra brakes?

Er you need the 345mm R32/Cupra/S3 discs with the same R32/Cupra/S3 calipers and carriers. You can't keep the original discs.

Perhaps you should check out Muckipup's not so big brake kit thread instead. ;)

I do fancy that but would rather keep the pads and discs VAG OEM to be honest although the price is tempting

Just out of interest how much did people pay for the Cupra setup. £610 new is the best price I've had so far.

Porsche qualify as VAG ;)

Not a bad price. I paid everso slightly less. Alternatively they do appear on ebay every now and again.

Very true about Porsche and VAG. Wonder when the new rear engined Yeti is coming out.....

I paid £275 for a full R32 front setup (Used but in excellent condition) which are now on my vRS (and they fit under 17" zeniths without spacers)

As Ian says you need the 345mm discs & Pads. 312 disc and Pads are too small.

Not the best pic but this is them fitted

Would rather a set of red cupra ones but they could soon be painted. Seems like he only has one pair and they have been sold.

Is he a breaker or a vw dealer or something like that? Perhaps he will have another set soon

Never mind the colour at that price! They could be pink and I'd still buy them :D

Will keep an eye out for you too. I did consider a pair, but thought the jump was a bit too great for a lowly PD140 ;) - so I'll stick to a 312mm upgrade instead.
