Caring for my new toy

Can anyone tell me how many miles you are supposed to do to run in the fabia vrs before you can start to play for real. Thanks

The dealer told me it needs NO running in, BUT the general consensus on here it that you should take it easy up to the first 1000 miles. Well, when I say take it easy I mean don't exceed 3000 revs which when you consider the fab vRS's peak power band is somewhere between 1900 - 3000 revs anyway you wont be deprived of any fun. :)

After that do not exceed 3500 revs until you past 1500 miles, and for the next 500 (to 2000) miles dont exceed 4000 revs etc etc.

I have just hit 1700 miles in mine and hardly ever exceed 3500 anyway, it's just not needed IMHO.

The engine wont loosen properly until you exceed 5000-7000 miles which means that fuel consumption and engine power will improve further.

All in all it bodes pretty well really

Have fun :D

Good advice, however its better to give it some revs rather than loading in up, like trying to pull from 30mph in sixth (exaggeration to make a point).

Thanks guys.Racking up the miles should be no problem for me as i have done over 20,000 in under a year in the car im trading in.Blame the employer for that one. Also i do quite a lot of motorway driving so it should be easy to keep myself from making fools of all the ass hole boy racer near me for the first couple of thousand miles.Hehehe.What would you say is the best lowering springs for the fabias.

Eibach vRS springs are very widely recommended.
