New clutch

Featured Replies

hello my vrs's clutch has gone at 75k... how much for a new 1

just to supply, or to supply and fit? If you want supply only prices have a look at something like eurocarparts.

I was quoted £500 supplied and fitted from my local garage when I told them I thought my clutch was on its way out.

The expensive bit is the dual mass flywheel (something like £250) and its a few hours labour, if you go for a single mass conversion you save on the price of the DMF and they don't have to replace the DMF if the clutch ever needs doing again while you own the car.

just need the parts, we got our own garage. do you have to get a dmf?

SMF is the way forth for the 1.8T!

In addition to the link that chicken already posted: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/150787-clutchflywheel-review/page__p__1877641__fromsearch__1entry1877641

Fully tried and tested conversion. I find the gearchanges more rewarding now, and I can really launch the car hard with none of the vague feeling I had with the DMF. This setup has never slipped for me.

I managed to get all the bits for a total of £178. That includes a genuine VW G60 flywheel with flywheel bolts and coverplate bolts from my local Skoda dealer, and an OEM VR6 clutch kit (LUK - original DMF and clutch fitted to the vRS is made by LUK) from GSF. Bargain!
