Any of you guys got one - if so how many batteries worth did you need to burn before you could hover confidently?

... and how many blades?

Aha - I have burnt through 4 batteries so far and have yet to crash! Mine you I have come close to crashing but and still a loooong way from controlled flight!

Ive got a blade CX2 i can hover it and fly it round about a foot off the ground.. havent got the balls to fly it round higher yet lol

What about getting a sim like X-Plane & plugging your transmitter into that to practise?

Most proper RC transmitter/controllers in the £250-500 range have an AI autopilot option, some programmable. So that, to varying degrees, the controller maintains the stability of the aircraft and you just point and shoot.

Surprised if even the basic controller doesn't have some element of this nowadays ?

Have you tried eliminating wind gusting by flying inside ? Master the technique and then go outside.

Find a sportshall/disused warehouse/public building to practise inside.
