Guess the cost of fitting four mud flaps?!?!

Featured Replies

They are having a laugh...

But they at least confirmed they don't know the build date yet and will confirm this later.

They also confirmed the latest brochure is correct and you can't have a variable boot floor with a spare.

Well I'll go for £68!! Mine were fitted free as part of the deal - by all accounts its only a few screws

Doh! Wasn't until I looked at the results that I realised I hadn't voted!!!

Well done to the few people that guessed £108. Elsewhere on this forum someone mentioned £50. So more than a 100% mark-up on that dealer's quote!

Since I'm buying it via drivethedeal I guess they need to make money somewhere else. But £108 for fitting a few screws?!!!!!! I told them they can just leave the mud flaps in the boot and I will fit them myself.

Fitting Cost £30. Supply + Fit £60.

At the moment the flaps are cheaper from the dealer than on ebay :giggle:

Did they give you a strange look and try and talk you away from the idea?

And supply and fit was quoted as £148.30.

Took me 30 mins to fit mine, front and rear so that is the equivalent of them charging you £216 an hour labour rate!!! :S

Name and shame!!!!!!!!! I purchased mine from Alex Lawrie Liverpool, with the intention of fitting them myself. However my glass back played up, so I went back to the delear to get them fitted.

Same here, they really aren't difficult to fit (providing you've got the correct size torx bit).

Top tip though, don't remove the bottom screws on the back as they don't need to come out, just loosened off and they're a bit fiddly to get back in.

I have the right Torx bits since you need one of these to replace the A2's right front headlight! Yes you have to remove the entire light fitting to get to the bulbs since the auxiliary Webasto heater diesel A2s have as standard, is in the way...

As to name and shame. It is the drivethedeal dealer in London. I don't want to say more than that.

Well I have just fitted the mud flaps to my Yeti which I collected this morning. Took about 15mins to do all 4 so unless you really are all fingers and thumbs when it comes to tools I wouldn't pay a dealer to do it. I was quoted £30 to fit them by my dealer which I politely declined.

They really are very easy to do - get a short T25 bit and a small spanner that fits around it (1/4"?) so you don't have to take the wheels off. I have a set of ratchet spanners from Halfords which have a special adaptor that fits into the 10mm spanner and drives an 1/4" bit.

£40 to buy them, £0 to fit them

Just be careful when fitting the rear ones, I had to slide my arm behind the rear wheel arch to hold the flimsy material still whilst I screwed in the screw.

Hi All,

Supply and fit 4 mudflaps, £0.00. Mudflaps in price of car, fitted in with tow bar.

Chris.

Whatever the charge, it's too much! Took me less than 60 minutes to fit all four.

Skoda dealer wanted £156 inc VAT. 6 screws to undo and replace, plus 2 spring brackets and 45 minutes later I had done it myself for £50

Have always got mine thrown in (fitted) free as part of sealing a deal.
