Mainly to be used on an Octy II, it will also get used on MK I and II Foci, a Yaris and a new mini, so not all the textured dash as per Octy II.

I usually clean the dash with AG trim cleaner and then treat it with their leather treatment as I don't like any kind of sheen or stickyness.

The leather treatment has so far left no sheen at all and I want to keep it this way.

However, I have to say that these two have taken my interest for a while, with the protection from UV a bonus.

Do either of them leave any kind of sheen as if so this is obviously bad.

So out of these two, which would you go for?

Natural Look Dressing

or

303

To be fair I've not tried the Poorboys stuff but I'm a big fan of 303, I get through loads @ work and it's great on all plastics both exterior or interior where you want a non sticky/shiny dressing which offers some UV protection also.

You could always buy a sample size of both and see which you prefer out of the two.

I'm in the same boat as Chris really, not used the Poorboys product but rate the 303 highly............

Is the 303 really totally none sheen, so it looks matt to the touch and like the dash before you applied treatment?

I have to say I've not applied it to a plastic dash as the cars I work on all have leather dashboards.

Things like plastic sill plates etc always look non-dressed about an hour after application if that's a good indication.

I'm sure Simon has a better idea of the finish on a VAG dash

It's pretty much like you have said really Chris it does leave a non-dressed look but in most cases slightly darker, I find it benefit's from a biff up with a clean MF after it's been applied and dried........

I can vouch for poorboys natural look dressing. Been using it for years, and it is certainly non shiny dressing. I have yet to use aerospace 303, but id imagine it produces similar results!

I'm probably just using it wrong but on certain types of smooth plastic finishes the 303 doesn't go on too well for me. It dries very quickly into a 'stain' where its been applied.

Misting it onto a MF followed by misting straight water onto the MF seemed to return pretty decent results last time around (experimenting on how to fix this) might just be i need to dilute it.

Octy dash is'nt leather so not sure why you would use a leather treatment on it. I used NLD only today, very easy to use on foam pad and smells great. 303 is very £££ for what it is.

Because AG leather stuff states it's suitable for a none shiny, silicon free treatment to be used on dashes. It is in fact very good, I just wondered how these two compared.

NLD says its ok on leather so swings and roundabouts! lol

Which have you decided to go for? Are both the 303 and the poorboys suitable for dash and leather seats?

Neither yet, but laziness suggests i might go poorboys as i don't have the time to clean the whole car then go over it all with a damp mf.

Fair enough. I want to use one good cleaner for the leather and the dash. Will the poor boys be ok for that?

I use Zymol leather cleaner and AG dash cleaner, so I'm only using whatever I go for as protection from the sun.

Espuma dasheen.

LTT for leather.

Valet pro protectant is really good for a matt finish, works in engine bay as well.

Well I had a go on one of the vehicles with a small sample of 303 this weekend and have to say I can see why people like it, but it does require a second going over with a damp MF once the dash area has been done.

I've ordered a few bits from Elite, so popped a small bottle of poorboys on the order and will see how well it works on a variety of surfaces and report back.

Well having tried this, I can confirm that first impressions on the Octy dash, plastics and doors are good.

I will have to see how long it lasts but otherwise I'm happy I do have to agree I'd rather it smelt of coconut than marzipan, but I can't have it all.

how did you find the finish of the poorboys?

You can tell it is on there because things look a little deeper shade of black, but I'd not say it was shiny at all.

I tried it on an old black plastic lever arch folder half on half off and after 48 hours you struggle to see the line down the middle out of the light.

There is no greasy finish to it so, I'd say so far so good.

As I said, I'll see how well it lasts.

I NEVER use any product on the dash

I use a damp cloth

I have never needed to use anything else

Therefore I cannot answer your poll

My issue is I keep cars for a good while, and having seen how bad a UV faded dash can look, I'd like to try and keep on top of it.

Hence my comment of totally none shiny.

Anyway, so far it's still none shiny and none greasy even with the heat.
