Awesome GTi remap on Ebay

Featured Replies

Just thought I'd stick a post on to gee up anyone looking for a remap for a standard power Furbie!

Awesome GTI are doing a remap to approx 170bhp for just £199!

Just had mine today, the result is very pleasing to say the least. Much better spread of power/torque, almost certain the tickover is smoother, as the description says, better on fuel. Also a lovely roar towards 4K revs :p

Somewhat suprisingly I'm the only person to have bought it so far!

My Dad took it in for me as I couldnt get out of work, and even though hes not a car type (likes his motorbikes you see!) he commented it was much smoother yet sharper on the way back.

Only 17 hours left, so get a move on!

Just a note to say I have no connection with Awesome, other than being a satisfied return customer over the last few years for bits and bobs!

Sadly I spent £182,000 yesterday buying a house or I would have snapped this up...

After spending that much money, what difference will an extra £199 make?

I'll be paying that back for many years....

No more food, toilet paper or holidays for the next 20 years :o

I'm going to have to beg borrow and steal to get modding money now :'(

Currently saving for a house,so kind of feel your pain.. though, I'm not yet with the mortgage but can't spend multiple pennies on anything, let alone the car.. and then once I've bought I still won't be able to!

and That £199? That the difference between eating for a couple of months.. or not! lol.. I say eat and drive with 130bhp ;):D

Must be nice owning a place though.. or is this a better house rather then your first? I can't wait to put nails and screws in the walls and put things like blinds up with out having to ask permission!

Rustic style wooden spoiler in the garage....

(aka a plank.)

:D

The last house I modded just netted me 25,000 of your Earth pounds profit.

Much better at modding houses than cars thats for sure...

Mrs Grr has already started on a list for the new Casa Grr. :dull:

Just as well I'm not planning on finding a job when I get to Bristol.

It's looking like I won't have time for one of those...

The good news is, its been extended for another month, possibly because of the disappointing number of sales!

Well worth getting, its a nice power increase, without blowing your clutch to bits!

Having said that, I've heard of people who have been running 185 plus and are still on the original clutch after 100K!

I'm dying to get it RR'd now, as I've had a front mount IC on it for the last twelve months, so it may well be a bit more than 170.........:)

doubt it ;) /\

Just noticed the same remap is now on eBay (and their own website) for £150 now, has anyone had this done and had a RR done afterwards?

Sounds great shame there so far away :/

I had mine done by Awesome just before xmas as a little present to myself, car made 152bhp with 239lbs ft before the remap and then made 182bhp and 277lbs ft afterwards.

Sorry the dyno results photos aren't the best I took them on my phone.

what was the spec prior to remap?

does this ebay map mean you need to go to them for it?

what was the spec prior to remap?

I'd be guessing stock lol

Awesome's rolling road can be quite optimistic in my opinion, and a friend of mine wasn't too happy with his Awesome generic map on his Ibiza PD130. He found it quite surge-y and when he had it dynoed elsewhere they thought it was boosting too hard for the weaker stock KKK turbo on Fabia/Ibiza PD130s vs the stronger Garrett on (for example) a Golf/Passat PD130.

just booked my fabia vrs in for the remap, cant go wrong for £150,has anybody else had there remaps???

I'd be guessing stock lol

As Matt has said the car was stock beforehand, bar a panel filter at the time which has now been removed for OEM.

I didn't have the car dyno'd at Awesome, I had it done at my work where it is a rather harsh rolling road for figures if I'm honest. I find the map fairly smooth, power comes in nicely just after 2k so not too harsh on the clutch.

Was just asking as it looked liked they had a 2006 vRS which is what we have but I thought they were around 130bhp standard.
