I reckon it looks the mutts!

Featured Replies

Yeah I know headlight eyebrows look a bit chavvy but I saw these and I've given them a go. Universal praise from the boys at work and I was asked twice about them while I was in Belgium the other weekend! My mate reckons it says "get out of my way" on the road!

Oh also added some knurled rings to the aircon controls as well as the colour coded surround, facelift badging, LCR splitter, colout coded grill and Superb light unit.

Have to get the wheel sorted next........eh Brimma?!!

what are the two red light for in side car

Looks mean B)

Not keen on the eyebrows though, although they change the profile of the lights.

Oh i likey  looks aggressive, just like a vRS should :D

looks good , but don't like the mfd surround

Grille looks like it needs rubbing down and redoing looking at the lower edge on the close-up? Crazing from bad prep or sprayed too thickly.

Sadly you are right there, mate, and to be honest, no different on your car :S

But the rest is very nice indeed....

Submarine lighting - it bathes the centre console in dim red light at night. Common in Audi's, V-dubs and Beemers.......

Lots of posts on it on the forums but its a right pain to do and I'm still not completely happy with the mounting to be honest. Also not cheap - £40 for the light plus paint + adaptor cable.

Would do it differently next time by actually drilling the exisiting light unit and fitting 3mm recessed 12v LED's.

Wasn't sure but thought I'd have a crack. Almost universal agreement they improve the look as they are perhaps more subtle than the usual ones you see. I'm still not totally convinced myself but prepared to give it some time.......and maybe a meet or two. I just think the standard lights look wrong - too "suprised" looking.........

Yep - muppet that sprayed it made a hash of it. Will get around to having it redone at some point but it only shows up in close ups like this so not too woried at mo. Trying to find a better paint sprayer first emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Mutts nuts, love the look

Yes but I can't justify coilovers (or put up with the aggro of maintaining them) so it would have to be springs only. The thing is I do a fair amount of long journeys and I'm just not prepared to put up with compromised ride quality for the sake of a small improvement in looks and cornering ability. Been there, done that and I think I'm just getting too old!! Andoby got some comfy seats for sale? emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Er, seriously no idea! I think I just decided to do it because at the time of doing the MFD install I couldn't get a silver surround for love nor money. This was around September last year by the way. In fact it was several days before I could source a black one! I'd actually like to do all the silver trim but thats a lot of work and I value my spare time!! emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Wow I really love it, very menacing…….

I'm being more and more drawn towards getting an LCR splitter myself. Looks good. Like the MFD surround myself, very nice.

LCR is easy to fit just cut down all the raised sections on the top lip and pre-drill lots of fixing holes as it makes life much easier when crawling around under the car. You will know you've got it spot on when you have about 1 1/2" to cut off each end so it butts up agains the small "flaps" at the front of the wheelarches. Most important thing is to mark the centre of the vehicle on a vertical line of masking tape.

Unless you've "Brimma'd" your suspension it doesn't come anywhere near to grounding. I tested this a little late when I was parking in the tightest underground hotel car park in Belgium. It scraped a tiny amount but given the angle that the ramp transitioned, I was pretty relieved!

At £20 ish from your local Seat dealer its a steal and will look awsome on a white car!

I like everything except the LCR splitter. You've failed to reduce the length of the centre two supports which makes it sag in the middle, and the splitter isn't wide enough to go all the way around the bumper. It just looks 'stuck on' IMO and it's not a very good fit. Sorry to be so critical on this, but you have done a stirling job on everything else and this just spoils the looks slightly for me. Cracking job on the rest of it tho - loving the CC grille and the eye brows give it a real aggressive look :).

Actually this was attempt two and I did cut down the centre struts, perhaps its just the angle of the picture that makes it look as if they are too long. The first attempt was courtesy of a mate who had a spare LCR that had poor moulding so I used it to experiment. I cut down the centre struts on this to make them completely flush and it looked awful so I decided not to be so ruthless with the dremel! As for the it not behind wide enough - it is actually - it goes all the way to the arches and you couldn't get any wider due to the curve of the bumper. Even if Skoda made one to fit it wouldn't be any wider but I get your drift.

It looks better in "real life" and really has a facory look about it in the flesh. Seriously, if I wasn't entirely happy I'd have it off immediately! emoticon-0148-yes.gif
