Didn't Mercedes do something similar when they launched the new S-class trying to demonstrate the emergency stop system in fog and it smashed straight into the back of the other S-class as someone forgot to turn it on lol .

From what I've seen of big Mercs on the autobahns, they drive as if they've got a force field in front of them that will prevent any harm.

So that's 2 demonstrations of similar technology by different manufacturers that have failed..
