Fitting of Fiscon Basic Plus Bluetooth Kit

Featured Replies

So where did you hide the extra Quadlock connector? I can't get my Audience back in properly, and I'm running out of skin on my knuckles :giggle:

The extra Quadlock Connector will not fit behind the columbus either

I fed mine down the left side of the frame that the Audience/Columbus sits in.

Hmm. I tried, but couldn't fit it through the gap. At least I know it must be possible. I'll redouble my efforts in the morning

The trick is to feed the wire down the the back of the frame so that you have the Quadlock in the back of the Audience/Columbus and the extra Quadlock block on the left hand side in the gap

Hopefully this pic illustrates what i mean.

Ah. I think I get it now. The original wiring was routed through the left side, by the glovebox. I should have changed the routing through the rear left before I added in the Fiscon section.

Thanks! Doesn't this forum have a thank you button?

I'm sad to that I have given up :(

My Octavia has a lot more wiring and an extra Quadlock connector in there than yours, and it has proven impossible for me to find any arrangement that will let me fit the head unit back in.

So, anyone want an unused Fiscon Basic Plus?

Oi :-) what kind of attitude is that! Get your act together man :-)

Mine has got Stereo -> Fiscon Quadlock lead for Bluetooth unit -> Fiscon lead for MDI unit - and it all fits in. It's a bit fiddly but it goes.

One of the quadlocks is above the head unit, in between the air vents. One is to the left hand side, the cage on the left only goes halfway back, so the other one protrudes behind that.

I have also installed one in my 2008 L&K Diesel DSG so its all the same as yours (The pic is from the one in my vRS) so it will fit.

Perseverance is the key

I need to find a day when the Mrs and lad are out. Being reminded every few minutes that I've got to take them to the dentist didn't help matters.

Seriously though, I know I sound like a numpty, but the wiring arrangement in my car is very odd. I think I will need to remove the glovebox in order to disentangle the original Skoda arrangement before can make a good job of it. It looks like someone tried to route everything through as many sections of the dash as possible.

There's always the old brevil, cut a small section out at the back, to pass the quad lock through

When trying to put this all together, you'll find it easier if you remove the climate/heater controls from under the headunit. There is loads of space behind there for you to fit all the additional wiring.

its really easy to do without cutting a thing, its all in the way the wiring is routed.

It's always a good time for a cheese toastie eh :-p

Anyone else fitted the Fisco kit in the north west who fancy fitting it for myself. Would love VRS_Carl to do it however your just to far away from me.

Honestly Darren it is not hard to do.

All you need is a trim tool and a T20 screwdriver. It literally takes 15-20 mins to do including routing the mic to the OEM position in the interior light.

I can talk you through it if you want as your doing it :)

Your a star reallly are. Where can I get the trim removal tool from. I am just bothered about the removing of the trims as I am heavy handed and would probably break the panel and trim on a pillar.

On the fiscon site it says it can go under the seat is this correct.?. My car is coming with no bluetooth already installed as its a manual and you cant select it. Do you know the best place to buy the kit from. Do you feel its worth buying the mic from them as well. God so many questions apologies and thanks in advance.

You can get that trim tool that I have from halfrauds. I think it was £10 or there abouts.

I got mine from Fiscon.co.uk.

I don't know if it can go under the seat. I would assume that this is if you already have the wiring for it underneath. You do get a mic with the kit.

I'm not exactly Mr gentle hands. As long as you take your time (first time I took anything like that apart I spent about an hour more than needed) and don't just yank stuff you should be fine.

Are you getting an FL Octavia?

Yes face lift octavia vrs manual, maxidot. Any idea of best place to get the kit from.? Know of any discount places.

Fiscon.co.uk

But you can shop around see if you get it cheaper. Have you got access to VCDS to code it?

You know the E-MFA add on doesn't work on FL Octavia. Not that I'm aware of anyway.

Sorry might be going daft what does E-MFA mean. cheers for all your help, might be annoying you again soon. Re VCDS not got hopefully get someone from north west to sort that for me.

E-MFA is the screen that gives you digital MPH, boost pressure, battery voltage, oil temp, digital revs, digital fuel gauge etc.

I did post a pic on here somewhere I'll try and find it.

Not bother me that just want the phone use. Cheers speak soon no doubt

This is the E-MFA screen

I have fiited one of these last week, and the E-MFA shows

Fuel g

253

When I have a full tank. I am down to 3/4 of a tank and it now reads 250

Anyone else have this problem - seen a post on a Golf forum that mentions the same, but no fix?
