My New PD140 Elegance Estate

Featured Replies

After x1 Fabia vrs x1 mk1 Octavia vrs & x1 mk1 Octavia pd130 elegance I've now moved onto a mk2 Octavia PD140 Elegance Estate with the Sport Kit  .

Upon collection my 1st stop was into Awesome to get a Pipercross Long Life Air Filter (I had to go past on my way home) and also had a catch up with all the staff there, 2nd stop was into Skoda in Sheffield via Woodhead Pass B) to get a set of car mats and some front mud flaps.

Mats now fitted and mud flaps now fitted and whilst at it thought I might aswell whip all 4 wheels of and give them a proper clean and seal them with poorboys wheel sealant. Gave it a quick wash and nipped out to get some pics ;) .

1st impressions are the car is brilliant, so much more grown up that the mk1 and the engine feels so much stronger responsive that the old pd130 (guessing its down to the 2l being a 16v engine). The ride, despite the sport suspension is great, nice and firm yet soft enough to be very comfortable and not shaking you about.

Anyway, I'm off to get a cuppa and go and admire it.

Very nice..that colour suits the estate well.

All you need now is a Maxidot cluster ;)

I think Maxidot is over rated

Nice car

Well played Matt. I had a feeling the Pug wouldn't last all that long... :)

Enjoy

Thanks, I think its the better looking colour for this car although I do like the Island Green (i think thats the right name .. metalic green)

I have considered the Maxidot after I looked at an octavia that had it but I need to look into it a little more to see what benefits/extras it will offer.

The 407 was too mature for me but it was extremely refined and offered the typical large french car ride which was great over here as it soaked up the potholes very well, at least I tried it.

I have a few things to research and could do with some advice from those in the know or have experience and will be looking over the next few weeks, in the meantime if anyone can help with a way to use the OEM stuff to offer handsfree (bluetooth) for my phone that will be appreciated.

I have had a look at Sharks offering of the Parrot kit but I really don't want anything that requires extra items stuck to the dash, I would prefer it all to be out of sight and fully controlled through the OEM head unit.

Would the Maxidot require the OEM Stream stereo upgrading? The sound from the stream suits my taste so don't want to change the HU just to get maxidot.

Now that does look very smart.

Excellent

perfect choice same as mine (apart from DSG and small wheels and sports kit, so not realy the same) but you dont have the optional bumps and scrapes!

Very nice looking car,

Do miss my sport suspensiond Oct'y, And the Pegasus wheels still look the best.

Lovely job. Got me all excited as I'm waiting on the exact same car in 1.8 TSI. Looks excellent.

As we say around these parts, 'wear well'.

Your car looks great. Can I ask what software you used to obliterate your number plates? Thx.

I'm still grinning and 300miles covered since picking it up, I take the onboard computer readings with a pinch of salt but so far its reading 48.3mpg overall, will have to get some more milage done to add it into spiritdemonitor and get a proper calculation.

Damn it, I'm at work tomorrow :'( but only for half a day so can have some fun going home. B)

I can honestly say 'I Love this car' and think it might even be mapped as it goes so well and just keeps going, if not OMG what will a remap do :D

Hi,

Love the colour - what is it called please?

I believe it's Anthracite Grey, same as my Scout....

Something like that ( i dont remember exactly). It either had to be this colour or the Island Green but that is even rarer in this spec
