EGR Delete CEL Mapping

Featured Replies

When getting the CEL mapped out in the ECU after performing an EGR delete, what exactly is it in the map which is changed?

I've read the EGR function is monitored using the MAP sensor, does it involve changing expected MAP values?

I still haven't got my CEL mapped out after a year of doing the EGR delete pipe mod! I've been ringing round lately to sort a Revo upgrade to stage 2 and was told by one of the sales guys that it would automatically remove the CEL light if I get the stage 2 map but I know this is not the case from firstly looking on this forum and secondly speaking to other tuning places. Seems the only option is to get a custom map for a few hundred quid but a lot of the places I've rang dont seem to really know how to fix this and have been a bit vague?

I know some of the site sponsors offer it but I was trying to find one closer to home.

How much closer do you want a tuner to be? :D We're in Mansfield.

I've been doing a bit of research in to maps and mapping tools. I downloaded the demo version of Win OLS and loaded up a standard Fabia vRS map. I think I've found the EGR map and can see how it activates with revs. My assumption would be that setting the map to maximum values will stop the EGR from being activated, but I'm unsure on if this would then stop the CEL. I don't have the tools to flash the file but I was thinking I could pass on my research to my mapper who could then implement the changes and flash the file on to my ECU. I feel a lot more reading is needed but it's very interesting learning about remapping, here is what I think is the original EGR map, and my proposed changes.

From what I've read this will mean the EGR is closed at all times. Since I have the EGR delete I'm thinking this will mean the expected EGR flow is always correct, meaning no CEL. I think the X axis is RPM but I don't know what the other axis are.
