I thought the car had developed a really nasty rattle this morning, drove me bonkers before I figured out where it was coming from.

It was my sunglasses in the holder :giggle:

Since I had the day off today, I put a few more miles on it and took in a nice little B road. Learned a few things.

1. The seats could be improved. They will hold you, but feel like they won't. I've been used to sport seats for the last 3 years, so I'll get used to them.

2. It handles well and bumps don't seem to exist.

3. Skodas 0-60 time does not tell the whole story. Performance in 2nd and 3rd gear is fantastic and they are all you need to get the car the far side of 70mph. It feels as quick as my 2 litre Coupe was :o Having the 5 speed box definately does not hold it back!

Once Skoda decide to release the Sport spec, get one with this engine and you have a baby vRS. I think in 3 years time it will be firmly on my list.

Totally agree Mike, Lovely car..One question what RPM does yours tick over at. Mine at present is doing just over 600 and so if completely flat up to 2000RPM then goes like a pocket rocket.......Spoke to service at the dealer who said that low rpm was `normal` and its not possible to adjust the rpm speed like it used to be :S anyone got any ideas

Mine is the same for tick-over.

I find that it gets rolling easily in first, then is really flat unless you give lots of throttle. But shift to 2nd and it pulls harder from 1500rpm with no flat spot.

What I might see about is getting the dealer to make the power steering a bit heavier. You could do that in the Mk 1's, so I think it should still be possible.

That was also my question to the dealer when I had a test drive. The car felt very light. Also, at only 48 miles on the clock, the tyres were a bit slippery. These two factors contributed to my impression of not being in contact with the road.

Mine has Bridgestones fitted, seem a little noisy, but they're not bad for grip. Not as good as T1-R's though.

Annnd there we are! 1000 miles on the clock. No issues or faults to report.

To celebrate it is going to it's first Brisky meet this weekend, to play with the vRS's :o

After a visit to my dealer, I have ordered the new car. I have gone for a TSI Elegance in corrida red. Delivery expected in about 3 weeks time :D

He came up with a great deal which meant I had nothing extra to pay, a major win IMHO.

Big thanks to Richard at Deans of Dumfries for that
