Taken Delivery Of MY 1.2TSI (with pics)

Featured Replies

Well today was the day, ive taken delivery of my 1.2 tsi manual fabia elegance.

The car is in candy white with a few options on it. I'm very impressed with the response of the 1.2 engine (and im coming from a vrs). Its a little laggy lower down the revs but hit 2000 and your away. Your get the feeling you could easily be in a 1.6 car. The car feels very light but i guess i was driving a big heavy diesel. The build quality seems equally as good if not better than the Mk1 fabia and the inside feels much more 2000's and business like rather than the much dated Mk1 (cant speak for the mk2 pre fl). One thing i cant quite get used to is the display which tells you when to change gear. As for mpg, the car has currently got 19 miles on the clock and is averaging 38.1mpg, i will try and keep you guys updated as i add more miles.

Any questions feel free to ask. Pics below.

Nice lookin car, best of luck with it.

Looks lovely, Can't wait to see the new interior because our pre FL 09 plate isn't a patch on our 2002 Elegance in quality if not design.

I shall upload some pics of the interior tomorrow when its lighter.

Very nice! :)

Nice! I wondered what the wheels looked like on the car and now I know. They look good :)

Is yours the 105bhp or the 85bhp?

86. Ive not gunned it yet as im obviously running it in. Saying that it pulls really well.

Looks really nice.

The one thing i think is quiet odd about the face lift is the head lights, the projectors look so far away, were the pre face lift ones are centred nicely in the middle, I just think it ruins the look of the front of the car.

Hope you enjoy it fella, ive heard these engines are great

Splendid. I'm expecting a white estate in about 6 weeks. Nice to see a picture of one with the standard fit alloys, all the brochure ones had the Elba alloys. Very nice indeed, looking forward to seeing the interior pics.

nice looks good in white

I guess it's part of the visual tricks to make the car look wider and I think it's worked to some extent.

I like it, looks smart in white. Looking forward to seeing the interior pics

Looks great in White!

I've driven the 86PS engine a bit and I really like it, a 105PS will be lovely especially with DSG, which one day hopefully we'll get in as a demo!

is it with the optional -15mm springs as it looks quite high still

Just for your info the car now uses H4 bulbs for dipped and H7 for mains.

Looks very nice inside and very busy under the bonnet. How is the car for ride/handling and noise (engine, road and wind)? I have seen pictures of the TSI in, I think the yeti, with a cover on the engine which presumably quietens the engine noise, hence the question about the noise. Very smart motor, can't wait for mine.

Looks as if you could fit a PD160 intake onto that bad boy

Its very quite. I had to check the rev counter the first time to check it was turned on. As for wind noise ive only driven round town. Going out in it tonight on the motorway so will report back :)

Thanks for that. I think the engine with the cover I mentioned was actually on the 1.8TSI, the 1.2 unit does seem to be 'naked' in the polo as well.

Cool pics, we are getting a white estate in the next 6 weeks. What service interval are you on? Is it still 10k?

that's probably because you were used to the loud rattly diesel before

H4 for dipped, does this mean you get double high beam? Also what bulbs are in the DRLs and are they switchable? Thanks

Interesting and looks a nice car. I would be interested to read what miliage you get average as despite being reported as being a cracking little engine, I have read that the economy can be disappointing: ie mid 30s mpg,

It will depend how you drive it. On a trip I would expect nearly 50mpg, if you boot it a lot then mid 30's would be easy.
