Went and spoke to the guys at ADP about a revo remap and they quoted me £410! is it just me or is that ridicuously over priced? Since I swear I saw it on revo's website for £350.

go to r-tech £250 best 250 you will spend

£410 is just the £350+vat, so it's probably right. I think the APR maps are the most expensive about, at about £440 for a basic Stage 1. I also thought Revo was just a shady copy of the APR software..... :notme:

If you hunt about, you'll find plenty of excellent remaps done for under £300. Shark, P-Torque, R-Tech, etc.....

what sort of real world increase would i expect from a general remap on the vrs then. with just a K&N panel filter and everything else std. i have seen silly figures banded around but can hardly believe them :S

I'd say 205-210bhp realistically, dependant on fuel octane and engine condition. Some get more, some get less. Don't worry too much about peak figures though, it's more about how it drives on the open road. That's why post-remap test drives and free trials are so good.

If it makes you smile then it's the best map in the world to you!

Just wondering; did any of you with generic maps had AFR tested?

i was going to ask that, but i already have a wideband lambda and gauge so i would try mine after anyway just to make sure its safe

What do we think of this one?

http://pistonheads.com/sales/1742472.htm

I asked,

Hi Trupesh, what is your map based on and what guarantee do you offer with it?

I own a Skoda Octavia mk1 vRS, what figures does your map offer?

The response I got,

Hi Damian,

I offer a 14day money back guarantee if you are not 100% satisfied with the remap, can you explain a bit more on the question what the map is based around?

figures for a stage one remap on the mk1 VRS is 210bhp and 235ft/lbs of torque.

For your car i can do you an introductory price of £245

Any other questions feel free to ask.

The figures that he is quoting sound realistic. Unfortunately unless someone has has first hand experience of the remaps this chap offers it could be an unknown, maybe someone on here has?

me personally id take it to vag specialist eg. amd.awsome.revo.jabbasport and ect and ask them there opinons there a lil bit dear but they are worth the knowledge and expierance they have i hade mine remapped at amd essex and iv been nothing but pleased with it ull see alot more fun out of ur car

I had a really bad experience with one tuner here in Croatia, he isn`t well known and there was a few unsatisfied costumers but in general he was OK (so I thought). For the first map (stage 1) he quoted me 250euro (example; OCT -400 euro) and for the stage 2 another 270 euro. In total 520 euro, from the first day car didn`t feel right, jerkiness, afr all over the place etc... After he uploaded stage 2 map, car stared to smoke blue and after few day I called him and said taht the map is crap and I want my money back, but he said forget it.

520 euro later I have stock map and a really bad feeling like someone ****ed me in the ass with a gigantic strap on with out using Vaseline ... :moon:

The best custom tuner in eastern Europe quotes for stage 1 around 500 euro and for tweaking to stage 2 another 100euro.

The point of this post is, if you have a good tuner with good rep why try something else and risk buying crappy map?

Best regards
